Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Last week I was painting my nails and I realized that my toe nail polish and my finger nail polish did NOT match. And I didn’t like it. I don’t paint my nails as much as I wish I did, but I think when I do, I am going to make sure I change my toenail polish as well so that they match. At least in the summer when people can see.
But what do you do? Do you try to match them? Or do you just pick whatever colors you like and let that be that? I never really have looked at other people’s polishes, but I am going to be on the lookout this week to see what I can discover!
My toes are ALWAYS painted. My finger nails not very often… I always mess them up cleaning! Or I get worried it doesnt match my outfit. But my toes – anything goes! So when I do paint my finger nails, I dont even pay attention if they match my toes. Now that you mention it – I am thinking that maybe they should
At my job, I really can’t wear ‘out there’ nail polishes, nor do I wear open toed shoes very often to work…so I wear sorta conservative nail polish and go crazy with the polish on my toes.
Mine are actually matching at the moment which is rare for me! Me are normally different but I change my fingers more than my toes!

Five Minute Style?
Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. If they don’t match then I make sure they at least “go” together.
It’s funny that you are doing a poll on this because the other night I did my nails and toes and I did them different colors and later on that week I was like “Why don’t I ever match them up? This color on my nails will look really great on my toes!” I’m converting to match-ism! lol
I totally get people not painting their fingernails for work, kids or whatever but I hate to know that some peoples piggies are naked just because. I hate to see a girls’ toes without polish. I don’t know why.
@Courtney Lane: Ahh I am the same way! Maybe its because it looks “manish”?
I don’t typically paint any of my nails, fingers or toes. But if I *did*, I don’t think I’d worry about anything matching. Especially since my finger polish usually only lasts a day or two before its completely chipping off. But this did remind me that I need to get in the chair and have my toes done up! ; )
I def don’t match. But I do how ever use hues that complement each other. An example would be, white on my toes and pastel blue on my finger nails. Or a coral on my toes and gold with glitter on my fingers.
Sometimes I do, but not all the times. I feel like I can be a little more adventurous with my toenail color than I can be with my fingernail color (because of my job). I do try and make sure that they coordinate in some way, but they don’t necessarily match.
Toenails are ALWAYS painted… Fingernails never!!! It doesn’t last with all the hand washing at work… And when I paint my finger nails it looks like a 2 year old painted them… Haha!!
Too funny, as I was asking a similar question on Facebook the other day! I only paint my fingernails but want to start painting my toenails now that I’m wearing sandals all the time, so asked if I should match the polish or not. Most people said not to worry about it, so long as they don’t clash horribly or anything. Think I’d probably change my fingernail polish more often, so not going to worry about matching. Now need to find more cute sandals to buy! 🙂
Mine don’t match. I do think that they should compliment each other at least in the summer when I’m living in my sandals. I also tend to do darker colors on my toes and lighter on my fingers.
I answered yes I match them. In reality I would say they are half the time matched. When I paint them myself, I usually match them. When I have them done, I pretty much always get a french manicure on my nails and whatever color fits my mood and the season on my toes (sometimes I do a french there too). Right now I have white glitter tipped/french manicure on my fingers, and hot pink with glitter on my toes! ;-P
Mine are definite not matching, though I make sure it’s a coordinating color. I don’t know why, since nobody else gets to see them. But, I also can’t stand having both my fingers and toes having the same shade of color. I guess it wouldn’t be easy anyway, since my nails always get chipped or partially peeled by the end of my work day.
I try to keep my toes painted for like, when the UPS man surprises me with a package & I have no bra, no makeup & short shorts on coming to the door. (I’m sorry, I rarely turn the AC on & it’s hot here) I hate feet so I think girls should always try to make them look their best! I’m self conscious if Anyone might look down at my size 9’s.
Your timing is spot on with this poll as I’ve been struggling with this exact question this week. You see, I work at Walt Disney World in a job that is not wardrobed, is half on-stage, but mostly backstage. Even if I NEVER saw a guest, I am still only allowed to wear “classic” colors on my nails – hands or toes (if they are seen.) This means reds, pinks, corals, and nudes. If no one sees my toes, I can wear any color I want, but then I can’t wear peep-toes which is pretty much all we are allowed in the way of sandals. Because of this, I mostly only wear red or coral on my toes. Outside of work, I pretty much live in sandals year-round because Florida is so stinking hot. Since I only work on the weekends, I paint my fingers tons of fun colors now, then have to take the polish off before work every weekend. So no, right now it doesn’t match at all, and I really think I’m the only one bothered by it. Mine isn’t even complementary – I have red on my toes, and coral on my fingers. It drives me vaguely batty, but I’m getting more used to it.
I forgot to add that the idea of matching fingers and toes makes me vaguely sad. It’s as though we’ve all digressed back to some earlier decade because we feel we must be matchy-matchy on case anyone should notice. My husband is always reminding me that people are never looking as much as I think they are.
I actually don’t match them because I do them on different months. So I always theme it. Which makes my nails look totally mismatched!
I picked matched but for me it’s half and half. I almost always have my toes painted and not my fingernails. When I do paint them they either match my toes or they’re french manicured (which doesn’t match).
I don’t match on purpose. But’s not like the colors don’t match match, you know? I don’t put orange and then teal on my toes! (Wait, who does that?) But I like experimenting. But I’m also human, I get lazy and just color everything the same. lol
