June Bespoke Post – Seared

I kind of forgot we’d be getting a Bespoke Post box this month, so when I got a shipping notification on Monday, I was super excited.   In case you aren’t familiar with them, Bespoke Post delivers fresh and interesting lifestyle brands and products to men. Each month, you’ll get to choose from their of our limited-edition boxes filled with an array of products built around a central, unique theme.  Not into any of them?  Just skip the month and you won’t be charged.

The Box

Bespoke Post has shipped using FedEx SmartPost the other months I have gotten boxes from them, but they shipped the June box via UPS!  Last month it took my box eleven days to get to me.  This month, it took two.

First Look

The first look is pretty boring, but the information card was super fancy this month.  Also, this box was HEAVY.  I knew exactly what was in it, but I was still surprised it was so heavy.

The Information Card

The June Bespoke Post box options this month were “Shade” and “Seared”.  After talking to B, he opted to Seared.  Although he said he would have liked Shade too, so hopefully that’s available for a while!  Here’s what came in your June Bespoke Post “Seared” box:

Himalayan Salt Block ($34.95): This salt block sounds like the coolest thing ever.  You can use it hot or cold and it will “unlock a new flavor experience with little effort”.  The information card suggests using it for cold curing first, with veggies, fruits and cheeses (I wish) before using it for hot curing.  For hot curing you can heat it and use it on your grill or stovetop to cook your food.  They do recommend you thinly slice things for best results.  Oh and another one of their “cold” recommendations was to place ice-cream with chocolate or caramel on the cold surface and eat directly off of it. Seriously??  We better heat this thing up fast so it’s not even an option!

Himalayan Salt Block

Essential Cane Habanero & Sweet Onion Sugars ($5):  It appears you can use these essential can sugars for just about everything.  Seriously, anything.  From bloody mary’s to sprinkling on fudge, they work.  I can’t wait!!

Essential Cane Habanero & Sweet Onion Sugars

WMF Profi Plus Butterfly Turner ($24): This may just be the fanciest kitchen utensil we have.  Maybe?  It’s certainly the nicely looking!  It’s made of 18/10 stainless steel and is perfect for using on the salt block.  Something tells me I shouldn’t put this in the dishwasher though?  I didn’t see anything on it, but I’d hate to ruin it right away!

WMF Profi Plus Turner

All totaled I came up with a value of $63.95 for the June “Seared” Bespoke Post box.  Not as “valuable” as last month’s “Refresh” box, but I love it just the same!  Maybe it’s because I can actually use this stuff too?
