June Julep
June Julep – The Full Collection

I was surprised today to open my mailbox and find my June Julep box. I tried to track it when they sent me the link and it wasn’t active yet and then I kinda forgot about it. I usually track my packages in the “Posted” app, but I didn’t have this one in there so I kinda forgot about it. Oops!

The Box

Julep ships via USPS Priority Mail. They are located (and ship from) Washington, but they arrive surprisingly fast.  And no matter how many Julep boxes I get, I am always surprised by how small they are.  I don’t know why, but I expect all this nail polish to need a bigger box.  I know, it makes no sense.

Second First Look

When they announced the theme and showed the colors for the June Julep collection, I’ll admit, I wasn’t in love with it all.  However, I also couldn’t decide which collection to get.  I knew I wanted the DD Creme and there were a few other colors I wanted, but of course they weren’t in the same collection.  So I said screw it and got the full collection.  You only live one.

The Information Card

The June Julep theme is “Sail into Summer” and is named the “Nantucket Nostalgia Collection”.   And so random, but I have always wanted to visit Nantucket?  Has anyone been?  Tell me everything.  Here’s what was included in the full collection:

~Julep DD Creme ($36): While I have tried BB Cream and CC Cream, I can’t say that I have ever heard of, or tried DD Creme before this.  The Julep DD creme is billed to “moisturize, prime, perfect, and protect”.  I found it to be perhaps a little thicker than BB cream and so far I like it.  It went on smooth (I usually mix BB cream with moisturizer) and covered nicely.

~Julep DD Concealer ($32): I’m not even sure I knew that the concealer was coming in the box?  I don’t use concealer much (although I totally should), so while I probably wouldn’t buy this myself, I will totally use it.

Julep DD Concealer

~Julep Char (It Girl) ($14): Char is a nautical navy blue crème.  When I read the description online I was quite surprised since I thought it was some sort of purple.  Maybe I need to take it in a different light?  Either way I like it.

Julep Char

~Julep Raegan (Bombshell) ($14): Raegan is an electric dark pink crème and was one of the colors that I HAD to have.  It’s so beautiful and I am going to use it TONIGHT! Look for a picture on Instagram later (kind of have to do it now you know)!

Julep Raegan

~Julep Martha (Classic With A Twist) ($14):  Martha is a polo pink crème.  I love pale polishes.  When someone else does it for me.  I just cannot make a pale polish look decent on my own nails.  Any tips??

Julep Martha

~Julep Lexie (Boho Glam) ($14): Lexie is an dandelion yellow crème and it’s one my favorites in this box. It’s a little darker and oranger than the yellow we got in the “neon” box and really is dandelion’ish.  You know, I should actually get all my Julep polishes together and do some comparison shots. Next time for sure.

Julep Lexie

~Julep Payton (Bombshell) ($14): Payton is a kelly green crème and is another one of the colors I NEEDED from this month.  It’s even prettier in person.  LOVE.

Julep Payton

~Julep Bess (It Girl) ($14): Bess is a baby blue crème.  Before I even looked at the description, I thought to myself if this isn’t described as baby blue, something is wrong. It is the perfect baby blue. If I wanted to paint a nursery baby blue, I would take this color to the paint store and request they match it exactly.

Julep Bess

~Julep Dianna (Boho Glam) ($14): Dianna is a mint green crème.  I was going to guess it would be described as sea glass or something, but I guess mint works.  This is probably one of my least favorite colors in the collection. I don’t hate it, but it’s kinda just there.

Julep Dianna

~Julep Kennedy (Classic With A Twist) ($14):  Kennedy is a khaki crème. This is another color that would look 100x better if I had it applied in the salon.  I’ll probably have to throw a coat of glitter over it when I do decide to use it to make it look halfway decent.  I need about 4 coats to make polish look good and that just doesn’t work well for me with pale colors.

Julep Kennedy

~Julep Nan (It Girl) ($14): Nan is a nantucket red crème.  I don’t know what I would have described it as (maybe burnt amber), but it wouldn’t be that.  At first I didn’t like it at all, but it’s growing on me.  Totally.

The Full Collection.  So pretty!

Julep The Full Collection (Sail Into Summer)

All totaled, the June Julep Nantucket Nostalgia Collection had a value of $194 (or $155.20 if you get Maven pricing)!  Not too bad considering that the entire collection only cost me $55 (the Julep Maven is $19.99/month and it was an additional $35 to upgrade to the FULL collection).  Sometimes since it’s such a great deal to upgrade to the full collection I just can’t resist ;).
