July Birchbox

Yesterday was a CRAZY subscription box day around here and one of the many boxes I received was Birchbox! I have been loving my Birchboxes lately so I was totally looking forward to digging into this one.

July Birchbox
The Box

I am still loving the new redesigned Birchbox boxes!  And that new logo is growing on me.  I wasn’t in love at first, but I am liking it more and more every time I see it.

The Box in the Box

Birchbox still does the box in the box method, which I would feel badly about if I didn’t recycle.  I still actually feel badly about it, but what can I do?  The inner boxes do make nice gift boxes.

First Look

Now you know I peeked at my Birchbox before it arrived, but it was so long ago that I kind of forgot what was going to be inside.  I knew I was excited about it!

The Information Card

The July Birchbox was is decided to helping you take controls of any situation and to make the most of every minute – on the clock or off duty.  And much like with the mens July Birchbox, the characters of SUITS were the inspiration for a few of this month’s picks!  Here’s what my July Birchbox (I got box #3)(*) included:

~DDF Acne Control Treatment ($12.83): Mine skin has been quite nice lately (thanks to eating clean no doubt), but I know this will be needed during those special times if you know what I mean!  For some reason I used to think that acne went away when you were older?  So not the case.  I’ve loved everything I’ve received from DDF, so this is a total score for me.

~Benefit Cosmetics It’s Potent! Eye Cream ($6.40): I love Benefit and I am still in search of a fabulous eye cream to solve all of my problems ;).   I love that Birchbox sends Benefit and I have my fingers crossed I will get more down the road.

~Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect ($4): This leave-in conditioner safeguards color and also protects against UV rays.  I realized that I never do anything to protect my color when I am out in the sun.  Next time I dye my hair I am going to see if the color will last long using this spray.  I’d start now but that might not be much of an experiment since I’m already mid-dye.

~theBlam cosmetics InStain Long-Wearing Powder Staining Blush (Swiss Dot) ($4.40): Although I have this already, I was totally hoping for another!  I love this blush and it really does last all day.  I’d recommend this in a second!

~Birchbox Bobby Pins ($1.67): I don’t wear bobby pins (like ever), but these are really cute and I think I might use these to pin back my bangs when they are driving me super crazy around the house.  Since headbands have been giving me a headache, these could be a option!

All totaled my July Birchbox had a value of $29.30.  Including the points I get for reviewing the products (which is equal to $5) and the points I got for purchasing the box (**) (which is equal to $1), the box had a real total of $35.30. I thought last month was the the best Birchbox I’d never gotten, but this one might be better???

How do I get a different birchbox? The only thing we got the same was the acne cream. I want everything you received. Those items look fantastic. Mine, not so much.

I got mine a couple of days ago and I loved it. I don’t know how they do it but the boxes they’ve been sending me have been perfect for me. I got the ceramidin cream, bobby pins, the lip stick (love the color), leg tanning lotion and color club nail polish.

While I did get the nail polish last box, it ws not he color I wanted and this one was! I’m also a total nail polish freak so this made me very happy. The only thing I won’t be using is that lotion sample because my legs are already tan lol. I’ll be gifting it to a friend.

Wow yours did take a long time I just looked and mine came on the 9th. I had box 31 so I was meh about it. Not bad but not exciting. Yours looks really good.

I just got this eye cream in the mail today! I ordered it because they were having a one day offer on benefit products! I have heard great things about it! I have a few weeks worth of my old eye cream to sue up first before I open this but I’d love to hear how you like it!

I wasn’t pleased with Birchbox lately — I cancelled and now I’m afraid something amazing will come out, but oh well. I got the hair pins, but in blue. I also got the Instain — which I thought wasn’t me, but I really do like it. The Icon Oil — I have not used it yet, the Acne Cream — which I have only used once and I also got the Caldera lotions, which are still unused… 🙁

I think I’m the only subscriber that didn’t get the cute bobby pins.

This month was my first Birchbox and I must say, when a $10 box shows up at my door I feel MUCH better about spending the money than a $30+ box! I received box 54 (was too lazy to run upstairs and try to figure it out so I just looked online and started at 1….of course I received box 54) which included: Benefit moisturizer (never tried products by Benefit before but everyone raves about this brand – love this moisturizer!), bobby pins, Quick Tan packets (ehh maybe I’m behind the times or just too lazy but not thrilled with tanning lotion), Juice Beauty CC cream (only ever tried BB cream but I really like how this wears all day) and the comb and prep spray (haven’t tried this yet). Definitely staying subscribed to this box – fun mix of products!

Samsies! Lol I love everything in this box. The It’s Potent eye cream is potent! I’m seeing results already.

I ended up cancelling my Birchbox after this months box. I heard so much talk about it and was so excited, and I just never really liked the things i received. I guess Birchbox just isn’t for me!!

Grrr….I finally did it. I quit BB last night. I have been wanting to, holding out that things will get better. Out of my six subs, I have not had a whole lot of awesomeness. Your box is fantastic.

How do you know which # box you received, & how did you “peek” at what you were getting before you received it? I’m a Birchbox newbie & can’t figure it out! Thanks!

Love your box! I keep trying to tweak my profile to get more makeup, but BB insists that I only want hair products and anti aging stuff or moisturizers. Seriously, in this month’s box I received 3 lotions, girl meets pearl (highligher, so that was ok), and the hair detangler. OMG. Getting so frustrated when I see everyone getting better stuff:) I’ve tried dropping my age from 40 to 23, and apparently bb’s on to me, because they still keep sending me anti aging. LOL.
