August 2013 Barkbox
August 2013 Barkbox

The furries’ August Barkbox arrived yesterday and after a long day of barking at garage sale people thru the window, they were thrilled to see it arrive.

The Box

Barkbox ships via DHL Global Mail and took, gosh, 9 days to arrive from New York.   In comparison it took 3 days last month.  No idea what was up with DHL this month, but clearly something was going on.

First Look

My brother, who was here when my Barkbox arrived, had already received his so he was telling me everything that was in it when he saw it.  He made it sound so good that I was hoping mine had the same stuff (and it did).

The Information Card

This month’s Barkbox was inspired by the deep blue sea with the intention of keeping dogs dreams of swimming alive with the goodies inside!

~The Hear Doggy Whale! by Quaker Pet Group ($5.89): This is a squeaker toy that doesn’t make noise.  It’s got a squeaker in it that only dogs can hear.  Buddy went crazy when it squeaked it, but Baxter just look at me like huh?

~Barkworthies Natural Hickory Beef Treats ($9.41):  The furries are picky with their treats and prefer soft ones (or ones with like a cookie filling) so they love these!

~The Honest Kitchen Ice Pups ($0.99):  You can either mix this with water and put it in the fridge or you can blend with hot water for a comforting broth.  I think the boys would prefer the ice cubes so after my garage sale fun today I am going get these made for them!

The Honest Kitchen Ice Pups

~Primal Pet Liver Munchies ($6.99):  These are made from 10% turkey liver in the United States without antibiotics or added hormones.  The boys love these as well!

~Barkworthies Bully Flakes ($4.50): These flakes are made with ground bully sticks and are to be used to sprinkle over food to help your finicky dog finish his meal.  Baxter and Buddy have no problems finishing a meal, but my brother’s new dog does, so I think I am going to give them to him.  I’m sure Baxter and Buddy would like them, but they don’t need them like little Rex does!

All totaled, the August Barkbox has an estimated value of $27.78.  As always, it was more than the monthly cost of the box (which again is $18/month if you subscribe for 6 months or more).  Barkbox is probably my favorite dog subscription box.  They always send up unique products I wouldn’t have found on my own.  And the furries always enjoy the goodies, which is the most important part of course!
