Bespoke Post offered two brand new box options for August – Frontier (which used to be called Hemingway) and Aces. Frontier was cool and included a No. 8 Pocket Knife, a Sport Fountain Pen, a Godwin Cold-Pressed Steel Bottle Opener and a Soft Cover Notebook, but I knew we wouldn’t end up using most of it. So we went with “Aces”. In case you aren’t familiar with them, Bespoke Post delivers fresh and interesting lifestyle brands and products to men. Each month, you’ll get to choose from their limited-edition boxes filled with an array of products built around a central, unique theme. Don’t want one that month? Just skip the month (you can opt out during the first 5 days of the month) and you won’t be charged.
I got a few add-ons this month (more on that later) so the box I received was actually much larger than this one., but we’ll skip that picture. My August Bespoke Post shipped via UPS – probably because it was so heavy (it was nearly 13lbs).
While I knew what the box would contain, I was still excited to open it else and check it all out. It reminded me of Vegas (what else), which always makes me smile.
Like I said, we picked Aces this month, which included everything you need to bring Vegas to you (well maybe not everything). They are bringing you casino without the kitsch and put together an amazing poker night box.
Wooden Poker Box: This is an awful picture, but everything is packaged into a beautiful wooden case. We have a poker set, but it’s in a plain old metal box. This is much fancier and so much more stylish (and heavy).
The Contents: The box contained the following items:
~Poker Chips: The poker chips (there are 360 total) are made from a “11.5 gram clay composite” and are quite substantial. They are 100x better than the plastic ones we have currently and feel so grown up.
~Cards, 2 Decks: Our cards our from Hard Rock Cafe and Rio! and were used at casino tables. I feel like back in the day (seriously how old am?) you could get these free at the casino, but now they sell them in the gift shops. They are the best playing cards though because they are heavier than lots of others.
Add Ons:
Bespoke Post T-Shirt ($16): This wasn’t a deal or anything, but I liked it so I decided to order one. You can add-on most anything from their shop to your monthly box and it ships for free. Doesn’t B look cute?
~Edgar Allen Poe Library Soy Wax Candle ($10): We have lots of girly candles here so I thought I’d pick up a manly one for B. This smells very nice (it’s not too strong) and I love the packaging on it.
I couldn’t do a price breakdown for the August Bespoke Post – “Aces” because the majority of it is Bespoke Post branded. But clearly I thought it was worth the $45 cost of the box or I wouldn’t have picked it up!
What do you think of Bespoke Post? Did you get a box this month? Which one? Interested in subscribing (it’s $45/month) or just want to learn more? Click here. You can browse through past boxes and see what types of items they have offered before. And I *think* the coupon code “LONELY20″ will save you 20% off your first box .
Don’t hate me… but when I saw Bespoke Post T-Shirt just scrolling I was stunned and scrolled back up to take a better look and then I was relieved… I soo hate to say it but I thought it was a swastika at quick glance and it freaked me out – but I was very glad it was not one.
@Alison:
Haha, that was my initial thought as well!
I love the shirt and the candle for my husband! I have to buy them soon to stash for my husband for Christmas! Also, I skipped last month’s Bespoke Post even though I wanted to get Aces so bad for my husband’s grandpa, If it is still available I will purchase one.
I couldn’t figured out why the logo on your hubby’s shirt looked so familiar. Then, it hit me. Run a Google image search for “Happi house san jose logo” and it is nearly identical! Happi House is a fast food, teriyaki restaurant here in the Bay Area. It’s absolutely delicious! Anyways, just something interesting I thought I’d pass on.
I also recieved the poker set this month. I really enjoyed it, but you’re right. So heavy! All of the products are very nice and well-crafted.
However, the chips were a real pain to get out of the plastic wrap. Other than that small complaint, this was totally worth it this month.
