August Fancy Food Box

My August Fancy Food Box arrived today and I think this confirms that the Fancy is finally getting their box shipments down! I mean, they’ve been on it lately! The food box used to arrive around the 15th of the month, but every month has been getting earlier and earlier, which of course I love.

The Box

The Fancy Box ships via FedEx and generally arrives the day after I get a shipping notification. My notification came yesterday and the box arrived today. Oh and I guess JLH isn’t the only one not to have a special Fancy box, the Fancy Food box doesn’t have one either. Maybe next month?

First Look

I had peeked at some Instagram spoilers (#fancybox), so I knew what to expect, but it’s always exciting to actually get the box in your hands!

The Information Cards

Totally not information card related, but I had mentioned in one of my recent Fancy Box reviews that Fancy includes a prepaid return address label in their boxes, but that customer service said you can’t return a box. Here’s how I’ve since been told it works: If you get the wrong size in a clothing item, you may exchange it for the correct size and if you do not like an item, you may return it for either another randomly selected item or a $15 Fancy.com credit. So while you can’t return an entire box, I think that’s more than fair.

Okay, here is what was included in the August Fancy Food Box:

~Bodum Brazil French Press ($20): B has always talked about getting a French Press and today appears to be his lucky day! Hopefully he never went and got one that I don’t know about or have forgotten about, because I think this is something he will enjoy at work. Although I am not sure how much coffee he even drinks these days?

~Taste 5 Umami Dust ($10.05): This is a dry seasoning that can be added to any dish – before or after cooking.  B is all over the salts and spices and seasonings we get in boxes so this is perfect.  He still talks about a salt we got from Mantry months ago.

~J&M Cookie Straws ($3.90): I’ve love everything I have ever gotten from J&M and these are no exception. We haven’t gone to the grocery store since before we went up-north so WB and I are just happy to have some sort of snack in the house.

J&M Lemon Cookie Straws

~J&M Original Cheese Straws ($6.40): I’ve had these before and they are yummy as well!  I’ve never seen these sold in stores and can’t find any store locators on their website, but I would love to stumble into these so I could try out more flavors.

J&M Original Cheese Straws

~Ubons BBQ Bloody Mary Mix ($10):  Every time I see Bloody Mary Mix it makes me want to have one. Yet I never actually do.  Maybe B and I can make some.  Or heck tonight even?  Why not?

Ubons BBQ Bloody Mary Sauce

~Dang Toasted Coconut Chips ($6): I’ve gotten these in a few boxes before and they aren’t my favorite, but I don’t hate them either.  I usually end up putting them in muffin tin meals for L because he likes them and, well, they fit nicely in the tins.

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips

~Papabubble x FANCY Fruit Mix Candy ($7.50): This is probably my favorite item in the box since I love hard candy!  And this “Fancy” hard candy is even cuter!  I’m eating some now and it’s good.  And I don’t want to share any with B when he gets home.  But I will.

Papabubble x Fancy Candy

All totaled I came up with a value of $63.85 for the August Fancy Food Box. As always it was higher than the $46.95 cost of the box ($39 + $7.95/shipping) and, once again, I love this box.  It always introduces us to fun things we may have never tried before, which I is why I enjoy all these boxes so much!

Did you get a Fancy Food Box this month?  What’d you think?  If you are interested in subscribing or want to learn more, click here.  Ohh, and if you are having trouble finding the different Fancy boxes, just do a search for “Fancy Box” and they will all come up!  You can still use “FOLLOWUP10″ to save 10% off your box, but I’m still on the hunt for something bigger!
