Yay! My August Goodies Box arrived today and I couldn’t have been more pleased. It almost didn’t arrive, but happily the mail lady did another circle around my block and ran it up to the door after she’d originally came by with the mail. Goodies Box supplies me with, among other things, great items for L’s muffin tin meals. And soon, I will get to use them for special lunch box treats!
Goodies Box (which is a WalMart Labs company) changed the size of their boxes. They used to ship in larger boxes no matter what was inside, but now they are using boxes that better fit the size of the items in the box, which I appreciate. Goodies ships via FedEx Smart Post which isn’t the speediest method ever, but I am guessing it’s super economical! It took an extra long time this month, as did lots of my other SmartPost items.
Goodies has done away with information cards and also, it appears that they have done away with themes. That kind of disappoints me since they used to have great themes. Moving on, here is what was in our box this month:
~Southern Pecan by Barnie’s Coffee: Meh. I am not overly excited by a cup of instant coffee, but that might be because I like my coffee frappe style? I’ll give this to B and have him take it to work.
~Poplets – Sea Salt & Butter by Rocky Mountain Popcorn: I’ve had something similar to Poplets, but never Poplets. They are tasty like suckers and now I want to try the Ranch ones!
~Hershey’s Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix by General Mills: I am probably most excited for this. L and I made cookies yesterday (for the first time in a while) and had such a good time. And well, I won’t lie, these look delicious.
~Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownie by General Mills: This is probably totally weird, but L loves these things. Like loves them. He usually has them up-north so he’ll be surprised to see it in the house.
~Granola Thins – Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter by Nature Valley: I *think* I’ve had these before or gotten a sample somewhere (Costco maybe) and enjoyed them. I do recall them being good, but a tad messy?
~Mott’s Medley’s Assorted Fruit Snacks by General Mills: Ahh, fruit snacks. Kids love them (and I think B does too) and we always have some in the house. Certainly not the healthiest snack out there, but we could do worse.
~Tangy Zangy Twisties – Wild Berry by Morris National Inc.: These came in our Goodies Kids box last month and were a huge hit. They are a special treat for sure and L will love seeing these in his lunchbox. Sort of OT, but does anyone else “practice” for back to school? I am giving L different containers, bags, etc. everyday for lunch to make sure I know what he can open and what he can’t. I don’t want him to be sitting there hungry at lunch at school while he’s waiting for help opening things.
If you don’t get Goodies Co., you should totally consider it. It’s $7/month and and includes “5-8 delicious new foods hand-picked and delivered directly to your doorstep”. You might not like everything that’s in it, but at least you gave it a try! They also have a new Kid’s Box which is also only $7!
