B and I have been mixing up our food boxes lately and decided to order a Hello Fresh box for last week. There is no rhyme or reason to what boxes we get. It’s just whatever I randomly decide to order.
HelloFresh delivers via FedEx and I mistakenly thought everyone received theirs on Thursdays like we do. Nope! It all depends on where you live. Although I am guessing that no one gets theirs on Mondays since they uses next day delivery.
Although I remembered to order Hello Fresh, I didn’t remember to go back and pick the meals I wanted for the week. Oops! So it was a total surprise to see what we received. Luckily B and I don’t have any food allergies and will pretty much try anything.
~Superfood Quinoa Salad with Chicken & Roasted Vegetables: Typically the Hello Fresh meals aren’t something I would order off a menu at a restaurant (however I do always end up liking them), but this is something I would totally order. And it was delicious. We will be saving this recipe and making it again for sure.
~Roasted Coconut Cod with Shiitake Mushrooms, Snow Peas and Noodles: I saw this in the box and was immediately thinking about how gross it sounded. Cod and pasta noodles. I dislike fish anywhere near my pasta, so I wasn’t so sure about this. But it wasn’t half bad! I’m not sure if I want to eat it again, but I finished my plate and was quite pleased that my noodles didn’t taste like cod.
~Asian Sloppy Joes with Avocado Relish: I couldn’t even tell you when the last time I had sloppy joes was and I know for a fact that I have never had asian sloppy joes. These were amazing and I know that we will be eating them again soon. Oh and mixing the relish and the sloppy joes is even better ;).
Do you subscribe to HelloFresh? What do you think of the service? As usual, B and I are loving Hello Fresh and think it breaks us out of our boring tacos / grilled chicken / more grilled chicken meal ruts we get into.
If you don’t subscribe and want to sign up, click here and don’t forget to use coupon code “AHELLOSUN” to get $20 off your first box. Check the coupon code tab above for the current discount. That would bring the cost of the box down to $49 for the Classic Box, which works out to about $8/meal!
These dishes look so yummy. I would so sign up for Hello Fresh, but they do not deliver to Washington state yet.
Did you know Hello Fresh is a contributor for Quarterly.co ? I signed up for their first box. Ships in 3 months!
I just found Peachdish, but I am not 100% if they deliver to me yet. The only thing with Peachdish is that you do not have any idea of what they are going to send. It seems they are just picking up. But other than Peachdish, that is the only one that seems to deliver my way.
I got this same box from HelloFresh! I used the 50% off coupon code you shared awhile back so THANK YOU. We LOVED the sloppy joes, and I am not a fan of fish so we used chicken instead of the Cod for the coconut cod dish…. and it was delicious! I loved the noodles! Going to cook the third meal tonight! I was so impressed with how it was packed, and honestly its much more affordable that I expected, since we eat out WAY to often and this forced us to eat in three nights since we didn’t have the whole “we have nothing to cook” excuse. Huge Win for me! Thanks again for sharing the code So we could try it!
I wish Hello Fresh would deliver to Hawaii because I would love to subscribe to this! Or maybe I should just move?
I’ve been trying Blue Apron for the last few weeks and love it. Have you done Blue Apron? I was wondering how Hello Fresh and Blue Apron compare. Thanks!
I signed up last week and we are supposed to get our delivery this week. Our meal choices were completely different than yours, and we didn’t get it today. I’m guessing tomorrow.
We got this same box and completely loved it. The sloppy joes were heavenly to this hung over girl- for real.
Hendrix is so obssesed with sloppy joes it isn’t even funny and we actually had them for dinner tongiht…
We tried them as well. The 50% coupon was the hook. In all honesty, I think if their customer service was better, we’d stay with them. As an automatic subscription service, it’s important to monitor what’s going on. I had put my account on hold because of travel and found out that the hold didn’t get accepted for some reason. Another shipment showed up and sat on our porch for over 24 hours. Food and money wasted. When I called Customer Service, they were of no help. I think they should have refunded us. Shame – as it seems to have been a service I would have stuck with.
Here is another code people can use since the one above no longer works.
Coupon Code: AXBLVE
