August 2013 ipsy Glam Bag

Well, well, well, look what finally arrived today. My August ipsy Glam Bag. It took forever to arrive this month and I was beginning to wonder if it’d ever show.

The Pink Envelope

ipsy ships via DHL Global Mail and took, gosh, 13 days to get to me from North Carolina? I mean really? That seems quite excessive doesn’t it? As always I love the pink padded envelope and reuse them all the time.

The Discount Card

ipsy doesn’t have an information card, rather they include a card showing all the discounts you can receive on this month’s products. To get the discount codes and to get more information on the products in your box, you can go to your account and check out the “My Glam Room” tab and you’ll see everything that was included in your bag, as well as, the variations in products from this month. Here’s what I received:

~Pixi Beauty Lash Booster Mascara (Blackest Black) ($7.14): As you know I love me a good black mascara, so I am excited about this. I’ve only gotten liners from this brand before, so while the brand is familiar I have yet to try their mascara. And I don’t know about you, but I am super weird with my mascara. I toss them after like a month. I once got this awful eye infection (or something) and while it wasn’t makeup related I never ever ever want it to happen again. Ever.

~MicaBeauty Eye Shadow (Bronze) ($14.95): I do love all things shimmer, but I have a few similar products I need to use up first. This is a great shade though and I *believe* it’s full size which is also great.

MICABeauty Cosmetics Shimmer Powder

~City Color Cheek Stain (Pink) ($2.99): I am on the fence about this one. It’s a cute color and I love the packaging, but I am not sure that it works for me. Still I know that not everything will be a perfect fit and I’m okay with that.

City Color Cheek Stain

~Michael Todd Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask ($10.20): I am most excited for this mask. It smells yummy (it reminds me of fall and I like fall) and is from a brand not only have I never tried before, I have never even heard of. I am thrilled I got this and can’t wait to use it!

~noya Lip Balm ($3.99): This is another total hit for me this month because I am a complete lip balm junkie. If I were ever to go on Survivor and had to bring a luxury item or even a survival item on Naked and Afraid (as if I would ever go on either on those shows), it’d be lip balm. This smells delicious and goes on smooth. LOVE!

Bonus Items (for Referrals):
~Lime Crime Crema de Limon Nail Polish ($8): I’ve never tried any polishes from Lime Crime and I think this color is super fun. I’d love to see a Lime Crime in more boxes because they have some great colors!

Lime Crime Nail Polish

All totaled the August ipsy MyGlam bag has a value $39.27 (or $47.27 if you include the polish).  While I enjoyed this month, I am still fairly annoyed with the giant shipping delays / snafus, so I don’t know if I am going to end up resubscribing (my annual subscription is up this month).  I mean sometimes I LOVE ipsy.  And sometimes, well, I so don’t! This month would have been amazing had the shipping not sucked. I will probably end up doing a month to month subscription and seeing how the next few months are before I commit to another annual subscription.

Did you get this month’s ipsy bag? What variations did you get? And what’d you think? If you are interested in subscribing or interested in learning more, click here.
