Like most of my other boxes, my August Love With Food box took ages to arrive this month. I don’t know what the deal was, but I was happy to see it in my mailbox yesterday. I think it’s

The Box

Love With Food ships via USPS and took nine days to get to me from GA.  I have a higher tolerance for their slow shipping though because they donates a meal to hungry child in the U.S. for every box purchased.

First Look

I had seen some boxes on Instagram and they looked great so I was extra excited to get mine.  My box didn’t have an information card (BOO), but the August theme was “Backyard BBQ” and included treats to help you “chill while you grill”.

~Sea Salt Potato Crisps (BOPS) from Good Boy Organics: I tried these right away and thought they were fairly similar to ruffles.  I mean they weren’t exactly the same, but for a backed chip, they were pretty darn good.

~Sahale Crunchers (Cranberries, Sesame Seed & Honey):  I actually already bought more of these because they are so good.  They are a perfect little grab and go snack.

~Rip van Wafels Caramel Filled Amsterdam Waffles: It’s suggested you try these over a hot drink to kind of warm them up and melt the caramel I guess, but B and I couldn’t wait to try them.  We agreed that they were yummy, but we couldn’t taste a ton of caramel.  Hopefully these will appear again somewhere and we can have them over a hot drink!

~Aunt Sally’s Original Creamy Pralines: B ate this one as soon as I finished opening the box and the small taste of it I got was very very good.  If I am ever in New Orleans, I hope to go to see Aunt Sally and try them warm.

~El Pinto All Natural Medium Salsa: My goodness do I love chips and salsa.  I am saving this for a special treat one night when B is at school next week and I can’t wait!

~Snapea Crisps Harvest Snaps: I recently bought these at the grocery store and was surprised how good they are.  I think next time I want to try the ranch ones!

~Project 7 Mints: I received these in a PopSugar box a few months ago and enjoyed them then, so now is no different.  I love the cause (they give back to help in various areas around the globe) and think the product is great.

~All Natural Spice Rub from Dizzy Pig:  We haven’t tried this yet, but after reading about it, B asked me to order a big container ;).  We’ve been all about BBQ these past few months and this will be awesome to sample!

I had to order some pralines…they are so darn good!

I have loved everything so far in the box. I haven’t gotten around to the salsa yet. I got on the wishlist for the larger box…more LWF is never a bad thing!

My box also took a long time to get to me- I received it two days after my tracking information said it would be here… And it was a little banged up, and my salsa had actually leaked all over, unfortunately! But other than that, I was very happy with mine as well! Definitely excited to try that BBQ rub at some point!

      @nicole:
My salsa leaked too and by the time I got the box there was green mold growing all over everything… gross! Thankfully Love With Food has great customer service–I just emailed them and they sent me a new box immediately AND refunded me for this month.

@Anna: Exact same story here. Wonderful customer service! My replacement box arrives in only a few days. Did yours arrive with the salsa removed? Because mine did.

I think I may be the only one to say this but, I didn’t like the caramel filled waffle. Everything else was awesome especially the praline! The rub smells absolutely heavenly and I can’t wait for my husband to come back from his TDY so, we could grill some seafood or chicken with it. I think we might have to order the full-size rub since just by it’s scent I can tell its going to be good! I’m on the wait list for the upgrade LWF box! 😉

I Love to bbq, my doc asked me to lose a few pounds ( which i thought was kinda rude- since his wifey has the same illness as i do and SHe def. needs to take off a few), but i realize that with progressive MS the more weight I carry on my body the worse it is for my body… So i have been trying to grill, bake, broil, etc, but I don’t fry things. I LOVED the BBQ rub in this… I used to get alot of stuff from one of the boxes they canceled ( can’t recall the name right now) but they had this south west seasoning in it that had no salt and it was great! I am realizing if i want to be here for my friends, family, children and the ones who care about me, – Even my doc- he absolutely thinks i am great, i need to do more for myself, like taking off these 30 #’s i gained , is anyone else having trouble taking off the weight? With teaching, going back to school, balancing life and everything else seems that the one thing i seem to leave out is time to watch what i put in my mouth- i just grab what ever is convenient… not necessarily what is the best for me. Anyhow. I hope everyones weekend is going GREAT, I am glad I found this site, i makes my days a little better every time i read it.

Some tasty treats this month! The BOPS chips were good as were the Sahale Crunchers. I also bought more of the Sahale Crunchers–tracked them down at Hyvee. I’ve tried them straight out of the package and mixed with yogurt. SO GOOD!!! I was not a fan of the praline…definitely not my thing. I am excited to try the waffle cookie over a cup of coffee and I’m still working up the nerve to try the pea crisps.

  8. My dad is from New Orleans so I’ve had lots of pralines and they are so good! I even make them from time to time because I love them so much!
