The Other Box
July The Other Box

The Other Box is a date-in-a-box. It’s not quite a subscription service yet, but plans to be in the future. Every Other Box comes with instructions for the date as well as gear and goodies appropriate to the activity. Dates, which are described as unique and fun, can be with any “Other” in your life, your BFF, your spouse, your child, anyone you have a special relationship with.

The Box

The Other Box ships via USPS Priority Mail. I was told it would arrive on Saturday and what do you know, it arrived on Saturday!

First Look

I wasn’t sure at all what to expect from the box and only knew that it would include a theme for the date, as well as, ways to connect during the date.

The Information Card

The July The Other Box date ideas was mini-golfing and included everything you needed to go out and do just that with your “Other”.  Here’s what was in the box (and how we plan to use it):

~The Other Box Bottles: At first I thought, oh these water bottles would be cute for mini golfing.  And then I realized that filling them with an adult beverage for a date with B would be 100x more fun than just water.

~nuun Drink Tablets: I always hear running bloggers talking about nuun, but I didn’t really know what it was.  It’s a sports drink tablet because The Other Box knows you and your Other will be pushing your body to limit on that mini-golf course.  LOL!  They must have been golfing with B and I 😉

~Golf Balls: I’ve never brought my own balls (lol) mini-golfing, but I suppose there is no reason you couldn’t?  They kind of remind me of wedding favors – maybe it’s the color.  I’ve never gotten a golf ball as a wedding favor, but I am certain it’s been done.

~The Date Idea: The Other Box includes a date game as well.  It’s called “FORE! Questions” and basically the person who get their ball in the hole first gets to ask a question, to the other person, but it has to start with Four!  Examples would be “Four! Of your favorite all time movies” or “Four! Places you’d want to go on vacation!”.  I think this is a really cute idea and it’s totally something we wouldn’t have done on our own.

I look forward to seeing what they do in the future and what other ideas they come up with.  While I do like the mini-golf idea (and I love mini-golfing), I don’t think it’s all that unique (except for the game idea of course).  In the future, I’d LOVE to see some stay at home date night ideas or maybe some sort of scavenger hunt type thing?

I didn’t do a value on The Other Box because it has a few branded items I wouldn’t have been able to get a cost on.  The box is $20 (plus $5) shipping and if you are interested in subscribing, click here.

Disclosure: This complimentary box was received for review purposes. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
