Autumn's Yuzen
Autumn’s Yuzen

Yuzen is a quarterly subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season. Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies.  Boxes used to be $26/quarter, but recently increased to $33/quarter.  They doesn’t aim to be the biggest subscription box out there (in fact they limit the number of subscriptions and have a waiting list), their mission is (and always has been) to provide carefully chosen, high quality, nourishing products.

Autumn's Yuzen
The Box

Yuzen used to ship in a USPS envelope, but switched things up this season.  They still ship  via Priority Mail, but they now ship in a box.  And let me tell you, I have been stalking this since I got the shipping notification on Tuesday for it.  Receiving it today totally made up for not receiving PopSugar!

The Box in the Box

I am loving these new Yuzen boxes!  I don’t know why they switched to a box in a box, but I do love these.

The Items

Happily Yuzen still uses their beautiful papers and packages everything in a pretty bag.  It really is like getting a present in the mail.  Of all the boxes out there, I rarely (if ever) hear any complaints about Yuzen.  They are very proud of their boxes and you can tell!

Autumn's Yuzen
The Information Card

The Yuzen information card contains information about each of the products in the box, as well as, well it was chosen to be included in the box by Yuzen. The card also contains coupon codes and details on where you can purchase each of the products.  Autumn’s Yuzen seeks to remind you of Mother Nature’s coming transition and also serves as a gentle reminder to check in, rebalance and prepare for what’s ahead.  Here’s what the box included:

~Acure Argan Cell Stimulating Body Wash ($2): OMG this smells insane.  It’s a familiar scent, but I can’t place it.  It’s made from 100% plant and plant-derived natural ingredients and I already want to get the full size.  Love!

~Ajara Ayurvedic Beauty Tea Bath Sachet ($4): All these bath products are put to good use by B and this is going in his bin.  You open up this package and drop the inner sachet in the tub, so I don’t want to open it until B’s ready for it.

~Coola Mineral Facial Sunscreen ($5.04): Coola isn’t my favorite tinted moisturizer, but I do like it and will totally use it.  I haven’t tried much from this line, but I think they are going to be on Haute Look (or might even be right now) soon, so I need to check it out and see what else they have.

~Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive ($4.88): EEK! I love Juice Beauty and I have never tried the green apple peel.  It’s an exfoliating treatment that brightens, evens skin tone and minimizes fine lines.  I have loved everything I have ever tried from Juice Beauty and plan on using this tonight!

~Sanitas Vita-Rich Serum ($27): I’ve never heard of this brand before, but this product is suppose to deliver pure, active nutrients, deep into skin tissue to moisturize and promote  a healthier appearance.  I put this on right away and liked the way it absorbed.  It didn’t make me feel all greasy!

~Sphatika Rose Cleansing Foam ($14.67): This isn’t my favorite scent, but I seem to have a million moisturizers and not very mean cleansers, so I’ll use it.  And I so love the packaging, so that’s always a plus!

~Torie & Howard Blood Orange and Honey Hard Candy ($4.99): Oh my goodness I love these.  I don’t know what else to tell you other than to suggest you buy some!  Now!!!

~Verve Organics Soul Sister Lavender Nut Sugar Scrub ($4): This smells very spa-like and I am going to use it as soon as I use up my homemade body scrub.  How often are you suppose to use a scrub like this?  Daily?  Do you use scrub and body wash together?  Please enlighten me because I always wonder.

I totaled, I came up with a value of $66.58 for the autumn (fall) Yuzen box.  Yuzen is one of my favorite boxes and they never disappoint!  I love that they are quarterly because it gets me time to use everything up and get excited for the what’s coming in the next quarter!

Did you get a Autumn Yuzen box? What did you think? If you are interested in getting on their waiting or just want to learn more, click here.  They also have a Yuzen Favorites Box (select the gift option instead of the subscribe option) for $29 which is currently available if you just can’t wait to get your hands on a Yuzen box.  I would totally recommend it!!

Haha, you crack me up with the scrub question. I use a scrub usually 2x a week and then use a body wash after. I use it like 5x a week on my elbows, knees and feet. I think if I used it any more than twice weekly on the rest of my body I would scrub off layers of skin lol!

I AM SO JEALOUS! I feel like I have been on the waitlist for forever!!! I love this box! I use body polish/scrub everyday in the shower, in place of regular body wash. They oil in it helps to break down the oil and dirt on your body and the sugar exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. I love using polish and it leaves your skin sooo soft! You can also use it as a shave lotion, just scrub it into your legs, rinse the sugar off, then shave! The oil left on your skin will help the blade glide easily and your legs will be super smooth! I would recommend making you own with sugar(not the fine grain), any oil of your choice and your own essential oils/herbs, its super easy and way cheaper then buying it at the store!

I bought those Blood Orange and Honey candies for the first time at Whole Foods earlier this year…they are amazing! I keep thinking I need to stockpile them because anything I love that much is sure to be discontinued.

@LJ: LOL that is SO me too! I stockpile everything I love from beauty products to snacks, not a good idea though since eventually they will expire.. however we can’t help what we love. 🙂

        Hello Ladies!-

I was just looking these up and they have these in bulk on Amazon! Just thought I’d let you two know since you seem to be obsessed. I want to try them out myself now!

I tend to use sugar scrubs once a week, and I normally don’t use shower gel with them – especially if they are foaming.

I am dying to get off the waiting list!!!!!!! That box looks amazing! Oh, and to answer your body wash/scrub question:

If it’s gentle, you could use a scrub at every shower. If you want to space it out, maybe every other shower. But yes, I would still use body wash. Scrub just exfoliates and isn’t a cleanser, so I would still use a body wash product. I would scrub first, to get dead cells off, and then cleanse.

Soooooo jealous….feels like I’ve been on the waitlist for ever. Had hoped that I would get the Fall box. 🙁 Just ordered the Favorites Box to ease my disappointment! 🙂

Ladies, today may be your lucky day, as I cancelled my subscription immediately after receiving this box last night. I love this box, don’t get me wrong…but they went from monthly to quarterly, then increased the price. When they sent out that email about raising the price, I literally sat at the computer for a week trying to decide if I wanted to cancel or not, but I figured I’d give them a chance to show us why they increased the price. I guess now I know – they put a box inside a box. There is no question they are beautifully packaged, or that the products are great. I just don’t see how it is worth it anymore. Maybe I’m spoiled by the other subs out there. Good luck! I had no idea there was a wait list! I assumed they didn’t have enough customers.

My body wash leaked in my box and made the pink tissue paper bleed onto some of the products. I was able to clean everything off but the Juice Beauty box. There is still about half a bottle of body wash left so its not really a big deal. Plus it made my box smell nice!

I was surprised to see this review already! And then I got my tracking number right after. I wasn’t expecting this box till maybe September? But it looks good as usual and I can’t wait till mine gets here!

  10. Alison M

The body wash scent is almond. Love it!

  11. Ashley A

I love Yuzen boxes! I just got mine today and came to read your review to see what someone else thought. That body wash smells like almond (marzipan too, which has almonds in it). Also, I would recommend using the body scrub once or twice a week, you never want to use it too much as it can be abrasive. Great review and I have to agree with most of your comments. I am disappointed that they raised the price, but I am always happy with their boxes 🙂

    Hi Jennifer

I’m happy you’re excited to try our Soul Sister body scrub. Usage of the scrub depends on your skin type. My skin is more on the dry side so I use my scrub daily, after body wash, then I pat dry. If your skin is normal, then using it once or twice a week is sufficient. The coconut oil is moisturizing so there’s no need for lotion afterward too. I hope you enjoy it!

Ah I love it! I think the new packaging is great for reusing. I’m already thinking of all the ways I can use that cute inner box. So excited for that tea bath and the candies!

  14. Frances Tolley

I’ve been on the wait for too long:((. Going to spend my dollars on a different box!

  15. Amy B-B

I just finally got “called up” and will be receiving the autumn box! I cancelled Ipsy this month so this is my replacement. ;). I prefer natural brands so I am excited to finally receive this box after coveting it for so long!

The body wash smells exactly like marzipan! Got mine today, love it!
