PeachDish, who kindly sent me this box to review), is a $20 box of fresh, pre-portioned ingredients and a recipe for how to turn them into a delicious three-course meal. They deliver all over the country, however, unlike the other meal subscription box services out there, you do not get to select your meal. It’s a complete surprise every week!
PeachDish ships via USPS Priority Mail and took the standard two days to arrive. Unlike last week when I was a little scared that the food wasn’t as “chilly” as I would have liked, this week everything was perfect. I didn’t question for a second if anything was spoiled or unsafe to eat. I still do wish that they would ship overnight or use more ice bag things, but I suspect they will be just fine in the winter doing it the way they do it now.
The three courses this week were: sweet peppers & feta, stuffed chicken and pasta and shortbread cookies and oven roasted plums. As soon as I saw the menu I was super excited for B to make it. This kind of meal is right up my alley and I’d order this in a restaurant in a second.
Like I said before, everything arrived in perfect condition. The produce was fresh and the meat was cold. I couldn’t ask for more.
~Sweet Peppers & Feta and Stuffed Chicken and Pasta: Oh my goodness. This was amazing. So darn yummy! This ranks right up there with my top subscription box meals ever. B and I just sat there eating and barely said two words to each another. We didn’t want any distraction from this deliciousness. Amazing. Just amazing.
~Shortbread Cookies and Oven Roasted Plums: We were so stuffed from dinner that we really didn’t even have room for dessert. However, we felt like we had to try it so we took a few bites. It wouldn’t be my dessert of choice (after all, it doesn’t have chocolate in it), but it was good!
