September Carefree Crafts

L’s Carefree Crafts package arrived, gosh, a few weeks ago now, but we have been so busy lately that we just got around to working on the crafts! In case you aren’t familiar, Carefree Crafts is a monthly subscription service which delivers fun craft kits to your door every month (or a la carte).  They is perfect for preschool and elementary ages kids (aka L) ages 3-7. Subscriptions start at $12.50/month and contain five (or more) complete craft kits.

The Package

Carefree Crafts ships via USPS (yes please!) and always arrives to me very quickly. That may be because they are in MI and so am I, but still. I love it. I should also mention that if Carefree Crafts is customizing a monthly package to a certain holiday (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July, etc.) they will ship the package earlier in the month to make sure it arrives in time for you to be able to work on the crafts before the holiday.

First Look

As always, everything was packaged all nicely and looked great!

The Information Card

The September Carefree Crafts theme was “Happy Fall & Back to School!” and this month it included six crafts as follows:

~Owl Nature Bag:  This might be the most adorable craft we have done in a while.  The idea is to go outside and fill your bag with leaves and pinecones and other fall outdoor items, but we don’t have any that here (new construction = no trees = no leaves) so we just grabbed some stuff from around the house.

~Smile Face Leaf Wreaths: I don’t know that we will hang this up anywhere, but it was fun to make.  L and I decided not to use the smiley face side of the leaves and just did the plain side.  I think I like it better our way!

~Happy Fall! Apple Frame: L made this one all on his own, with just a little help peeling off the sticky paper on the letters.  He’s super proud of it and I think we are going to put a magnet on the back, put his school picture in it (I wish they’d come back already) and give it to his Nana!

~Design Your Own Pencil Case: This was another all L project.  He had some sort of special pattern he was working on and was SO serious about it.  I think it turned out great!

Working Hard!

~Back to School Shrink Art: I LOVE shrink art!  L and  both picked a few to color and then put them in the oven and watched them dance!  Every time I make these I think, no way is this going to work, they are all curled up and stuck together.  But every time they turn out perfect.  Love!

~Lacing Bookmark: I did this one on my own (with some help from L on the stickers) and listen, I need some lacing practice!  I probably started three or four times before I figured it out!
