Petit Vour is a new(ish) monthly subscription box of cruelty-free beauty products, hand-picked from businesses that align quality with progressive standards.  They kindly send me monthly boxes to review and I always look forward to it!  Their boxes the last few months have been amazing and I was hoping that this month would follow that trend.

The Box

Petit Vour ships via USPS First Class.  As always, it arrived nice and quickly.  The box itself is just about the size of a Birchbox, maybe a tad smaller.

First Look

I was so excited by the first look!  I didn’t recognize anything in there and I love that because I feel like half the fun in subscription boxes is trying new things (the other half is getting a fun surprise in the mail).

The Information Card

Petit Vour doesn’t have a stated theme, but this month they are including a few things to jump-start your autumn beauty collection.  Here’s what was included:

~Pura Botanica Natural Soap Bar ($7):  This smells really good and is actually something I am thinking of trying.  I’m not usually a bar soap person, but I want to try to like it because I get a lot of great smelling bars in my boxes.  So all you bar soap lovers, tell me, how do you store soap in the shower?  Is that a dumb question?  I don’t like when they get all icky on the bottom.  Is there any way to avoid this?

~The Excellent Tea Company Superb Black Tea ($1): You know how I feel about tea, but B saw this and was super excited about it.  I suspect it’s going to be at work with him soon!

~LVX 5-Free Nail Lacquer (Dark Matter) ($16): I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I am thrilled to see it! I love the color and don’t think I have anything similar.  I love dark colors for fall and winter and think this is going to be great!

~Arbonne Lip Polish Sample Set ($5): The card says that these have a value a $12.20, but I did a little calculation and came up with $5’ish, so I am going with my number. I love that there are lots of colors to try here, but I don’t love the packets – it makes them hard to apply and even harder to save for a 2nd use.

~Neuma Neusmooth Shampoo & Conditioner ($1.50): This trio works tame dry, damaged, frizzy hair.  Depending on the day, I have at least two, if not all three, of these things going on!  Again I wish it were in different packaging so that I could try a few times without having to dig into the packets in the shower, but I will use this right away!

All totaled, the August Petit Vour box had a value of $30.05.  The box itself is only $15/month (and even less if you get a 3- or 6 month subscription) and is probably one of the best ways their is out there to sample and find vegan goodies!  They also offer a rewards program and a referral program and offer discounts on some of the products in the box each month.

I put my bar soap (and solid shampoo bar) in a little stainless steel box from Lush!

i put my bar of soap on a sponge. it soaks up the moisture and gives me an excuse to splurge on a fun colored sponge.
