Thursday Thoughts

~Okay, we must first discuss this iOS 7 update. WTF? It’s quite the change. I feel like I need a manual or something. I went into safari and almost gave up. This is something. It’s going to take some getting used to that’s for sure! Maybe I’ll love it? Maybe not. But I do know that I need to fix these icons stat. All that neon. Oh my!

Don't leave me a VM. I don't listen to them.
Don’t leave me a VM. I’ll never hear it.

~L had early release yesterday (one Wednesday a month they get out of school an hour early) and we took advantage of it and went to a local indoor play area. OMG. The boys went wild. WB ran around and yelled for a good portion of the time we were there. L found some kids to hang out with and was happy as a clam. He wants to go back there for every early release day!!  And I think we can make that happen.

All I have is blurry pictures. He moves fast.

~I watched both Survivor and Big Brother last night.  First Survivor.  I used to love it, but haven’t watched it in years.  This season looks good though and I plan to watch.  No real favorites yet though.  But umm, if B and I were on the show (this would never happen because I would cry the entire time about how I didn’t have my lip balm) and I got sent to Exile Island, I would hope that he INSIST that he goes in my place.  As for Big Brother, Andy did play the best game, so I am happy with that.  I do look forward to seeing the Houseguests reactions to the trouble they have gotten themselves into with their in the house actions!  That’s going to be interesting.

~Has anyone ever gotten a table at a Mom2Mom Sale?  I think I asked this before, but the ladies at the PTO meeting were saying that they made a killing (one mom said she made $350, another $700, etc.) at this years sale and I want to know more.  Our school did theirs super early this year (i.e. before all the other schools) and they think that was the trick.  Anyway, if you’ve ever bought a table at one or gotten a table at a consignment sale, tell me more!

~I still have a bunch of boxes I am waiting on this week include the Fall Style PopSugar (I almost forgot about this one it’s taking so long), Bride Box, Box of Happies, BarkboxStudioWedBox, PeachDish, Unbound (don’t click that at work) and The Tasteful Pantry. I have a busy weekend ahead for sure!  Oh and I am also expecting a thredUP order today which I am super excited about!

~And just a little L school update, he’s still loving it!  Totally happy to go to school.  Doesn’t complain about getting up early anymore and is making lots of friends.  They really make school fun.  Was it this fun when I went?  Because I don’t remember earning tickets to buy stuff off the prize cart or any of that!  I do remember walking uphill both ways to school with 4 feet of snow on the ground though ;).

Waiting for the doors to open.

That’s it for now!  What’s on your mind today?

I got a table at a mom2 mom for the first time last spring. It was kind of slow at the school but I ended up making around $170. Not bad for a few hours! You should totally do it!

I was just talking to my girlfriend about doing a mom to mom and i try and hit one every saturday and i walk in with at least $40 in cash on me…..i spend at least $20….so i am sure the sellers are making money but they have to pay the fee for the table… another thing i noticed is the baby clothes dont sell as well…. its the bigger sizes that people r fighting for…. hope this helps… i have posted stuff on a swap site and have sold some stuff will report back soon…

They call them treasure chests around here and I think a lot of teachers do them all through out elementary schools. Our teacher has items for the treasure chest on her wishlist so I’ll have to grab some goodies and send them her way. I need to talk to some of my teacher friends and see what would be good to send in for kindergarten.

I was so happy that Andy won BB. GM ended up looking like quite the idiot when she was answering those jury questions. UGH!

I also used to be a big Survivor fan and haven’t watched it in years. Yet… I did last night. Looks like it could be good. We’ll see….

Is there a way to fix the icons? I can’t recognize them anymore!

Funny that I’ve gotten the Popsugar Fall box but not the regular monthly box. Maybe they did that on purpose? Just so one would have at least ONE box in hand?

I am not sure about renting a table. At the kids consignment sales here, you price and prep your stuff (put your clothes on a hanger, bag up toys, etc.). You drop it off and they sell it, you can elect for your stuff to go 1/2 price on Sat. after a Thursday night and Friday sale. They keep 30%(usually goes to a preschool) and you get the rest. At the end of the sale you can either pick up or donate to charity. It is much more work than a yard sale, but you make a lot more. The people that come to these sales are looking for kids items. I would say you make more than the send away places too. $4-5 per item seems to be a good price for clothes. There are always a lot of baby clothes left, but they start out with the most of those also. Older kids clothes sell really well.

I don’t know if we have mom2mom sales here, but maybe I just don’t know about them. GM looked like an idiot when she was answering the jurys questions, but I also wasn’t expecting much from her. So far I’m on the fence about the update the only thing I know for sure that I hate is the calender. I live or die by that thing and I think its confusing now.

I never bought an iPhone because I HATED the software, I have to go to the store and study the new software for some time to decide if I like the new one.
if not, I guess I will be sticking with windows 8 phone. I hate android as well 😀

No school was not as fun when we were kids! My sons school is so fun but he is also learning so much. I remember the same as you walking to school in the rain and walking home. School well it was ok! Some teachers were better than other!
