October Fancy Box
October Fancy Box

I always seem to get my (regular) Fancy Boxes before I have the chance to get spoiled and this month was no exception! As I was fetching half of yesterday’s mail that mysteriously appeared in my mailbox the FedEx lady pulled up and handed me my Fancy Box! The FedEx lady and the UPS guy are my favorite delivery people. I’m going to bake them some cookies for the holidays or get them a little gift card or something. Such nice people.

The Box

Like I said Fancy Box ships via FedEx. I paid for this box on 9/25 and received it today. I’m still a little unclear on how Fancy bills / ships, but I believe I am in the first “wave” of regular Fancy Box shipments for the month. So if you want to be in the first wave, I’d try ordering around that date too. This is only for the regular Fancy box though, not the celebrity curated ones or the food one.

First Look

The October Fancy Box was heavy and I couldn’t tell much from the first look, which was even more fun. I honestly never know what to expect from Fancy. They could literally send you anything! My selected categories are “Men’s, Home & Gadgets” and the items have been fitting better and better lately, but you still never really know.

The Information Card

I thought Fancy Box was going to start labeling what category the items were from on their information cards, but that seemed to last only one month ;(. As always though, I enjoy Fancy’s little information cards and their product notes on the back. Here is what I received this month:

~Stay Dry Backpack ($50): I am cracking up. I was under the impression that this was a water proof backpack. Umm, no! That’s the brand name. LOL. I am glad I didn’t try and test it out in the rain! This backback is far to boring for L and maybe even too boring for B (he has one that is oddly similar to L’s but in different colors), but it might work for traveling?  Either that or I will donate to L’s school district for a kid who needs one!

~Contort Flexible USB Hub ($25):I have no idea how Fancy knew I needed one of these, but I totally do!  My new laptop only has one USB port and I’m used to having more than one, so this is awesome.

~Prepara’s Chef’s Basting Set ($20): I have never basted anything, but I know B will enjoy this item.  It’s quite cool and I can only hope that the next Plated box has something that needs to be basted!!

~Miniature People Set ($15): Now some people mentioned that they thought these were “worry dolls“, but Fancy doesn’t call them that.  It basically sounds like they are really just a set of mini people.  And they crack me up.  Mini people in a box huh?  Fancy is having a contest to see how people style their miniature people though and you could win a $250 gift card, so I need to think of some ideas!!!!

Miniature People

All totaled I came up with a value of $110 for the October Fancy Box!  Even though I am iffy on keeping the backpack, I did enjoy everything else in the box (even those mini people), so once again, Fancy was totally with it for me!!

Did you get an October Fancy Box?  Has it come yet? What’d you think? If you are thinking of ordering this or ANY of the Fancy Boxes, click here and get on it! Fancy Boxes are $39 + $7.95 shipping, but you can always use the coupon code “FOLLOWUP10″ to save 10% on any Fancy.com, order, including subscription boxes.  If you can’t find the Fancy Box you are looking for, I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site.
