My October Julep was waiting for me when I got home from my trip, however, I had gotten an e-mail saying that it was missing the mask that should have been included in it, so I waited to do the review.
My Julep shipped via USPS Priority Mail this month, which kind of surprised me since I thought they were using DHL Global Mail now? Maybe not for Maven shipments? I’m not sure? I purchased some sea salt spray (love that stuff) and it took nearly two weeks to arrive with DHL. This is way better ;)!
Had I not gotten an e-mail from Julep, I don’t think I even would have known that I was missing an item. My box was nice and full from a few extras that I got! I would have realized it eventually, but it would have taken a bit!
The October Julep theme is “The Rebel Set” and is described as a collection to lighten up your dark side. I upgraded to the fill collection and this is what I received:
~Dahlia (Boho Glam) ($11.20 / $14): Dahlia is a goldenrod microglitter. If there is a glitter in the Julep collection, I must get it. This one reminds me of the yellow brick road in the Wizard of Oz. Maybe that’s why I love it so much?
~Stevie (Boho Glam) ($11.20 / $14): Stevie is a concrete gray frost and is has a hint of purple / blue in it. It’s certainly not concrete like my driveway or anything.
~Valerie (Bombshell) ($11.20 / $14): Valerie is a teal with iridescent microglitter. Sometimes I think it’s more blue and sometimes I think it’s more green. I just can’t tell.
~Cleopatra (Bombshell) ($11.20 / $14): Cleopatra is a black latex crème and I love it!!!! The darker the polish the better in my opinion. This is going on today with a Beatrix (it was one of my add-ons) topcoat!
~Winona (Classic with a Twist) ($11.20 / $14): Winona is a buff greige crème and is just kind of meh for me. I don’t love neutral polishes. Some people can pull them off. But not me.
~Anisa (Classic with a Twist) ($11.20 / $14): Anisa is a deep burgundy crème and I was expecting it to be much darker than it is. It’s a gorgeous color though and will be great for winter.
~Kendra (It Girl) ($11.20 / $14): Kendra is an army green frost and that’s exactly what it reminds me of. The army. It’s not a good thing or a bad thing, it just reminds me of the army.
~Ciara (It Girl) ($11.20 / $14): Ciara is a vampy magenta with teal microglitter and is one of my favorites in the entire collection. It’s the just a stunning color and I LOVE it. Depending on which way you look at it, you see more pink than teal. So pretty.
~Missy (It Girl) ($11.20 / $14): Missy is a titanium metallic and in keeping with my Wizard of Oz theme, reminds me of the tin man. I don’t know that I would wear this on all my nails at the same time, but I think it’ll work for an “accent” nail.
~Kajal Eye Glider & Sharpener ($17.60 / $22): This eye glider is “two intensely pigmented colors—carbon black and brown shimmer—that glide on smoothly and blend like a dream”. I plan on passing it along to a friend since I am not (at all) a huge eyeliner fan.
~Mask Noir ($25.60 / $32): Mask Noir is a peel-off mask of gentle kaolin clay and black volcanic ash. I cannot WAIT to use this tonight!!!
All totaled the October Julep “The Rebel Set” full collection had a value of $144 and that’s using Maven pricing! Regular boxes are $19.99/month and it’s only an additional $35? to upgrade to the full collection, which I always do because I NEED more nail polish ;).
Did you get a Julep Maven The Rebel Set box this month? What was your favorite color in the box and what collection did you opt for? Did you get any add-ons? I am LOVING Casper and Beatrix! If you are interested in signing up, or just want to learn more, click here. And, as always, you can use code “FREEBOX” to score your first box FREE (you pay shipping which I think is $3.99). If you want to see if how you like the Julep colors / formulas, this is the best way!
