My Muse Box, who kindly sent this box for me to review, is a brand new, bimonthly beauty subscription box service. Every two months you’ll receive a hand picked selection of 5-6 of the latest trends in beauty products.
My Muse Box ships via USPS Priority Mail and took the promised two days to arrive. I am so looking forward to getting the mail tomorrow. I hope to see lots of these boxes on my porch ;).
Since this is a brand new box (I believe October was there first ever month), I’d never seen a My Muse Box review before. Right away I loved the packaging and it felt like a friend had sent me a gift in the mail.
Isn’t that little bag adorable? Just like when you go to the store and buy fancy make-up and they give you those adorable little bags to hold your goodies!
My Muse Box doesn’t do an product information card (boo), rather they have a general card that they send out in the bags. I do hope that this changes though because you know how I love my little information cards! Here’s what the October bag included:
~Hard Candy Eye Tattoo ($10): I have never heard of such a thing! These are pretty tame, but they have some super wild designs which would be fun for Halloween or a girls night out. I thought they were easy to put on and looked fun, but they wouldn’t be a daily wear thing for me anyway.
~Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss ($10.38): I couldn’t find this on the Smashbox site anywhere so I’m wondering if it’s not a discontinued size or something? No matter (to me). It’s fabulous. The more lip gloss the better in my opinion! It’s not sticky and goes on nice and evenly.
~Hamadi Lemon Mini Hair Wash ($9): I’ve never heard of this brand before, but I am looking forward to testing it out. It’s got a minty smell and is a color protector shampoo. I only wish they would have sent the conditioner too. I feel like all shampoos need to be tried with their matching conditioner. Is that weird??
~Beauty Sponge ($10): The texture on this is a tad different than on a Beauty Blender, but from what I can tell, they work just about the same! If you have never tried a beauty blender type sponge, I highly recommend it. I don’t use mine daily, but I do use it for special occasions!
~MD Formulations Face & Body Scrub, MD Formulations Critical Care & Prada Reviving Bio-Firm Concentrate / Face Samples: I didn’t assign values to these because we were already well over the price of the box. I am really hoping that I don’t love the Prada though because I don’t know if it’s still available anywhere ;(. I am pretty much obsessed with this packaging though! So cute!
All totaled I came up with a value of $39.38 (+ the value of the samples) for the October My Muse Box! Not too bad considering that the box itself only costs $29.99! And I really do like the every other month idea. Sometimes you just don’t need that much new stuff every month.
What do you think of My Muse Box? Want to win your very own? Go here and get yourself entered and check them out!!!
12/18 Update: My Muse Box has yet to send the winner the prize and I am not having any luck contacting them via e-mail / Facebook.
Such a cute box but I wish it had more(even if they threw in more samples maybe??) I kinda feel like it’s empty for 29.99 or at the very least if it had a real beauty blender I’d be all over it haha
Doesn’t seem like the best value box, maybe I’m just spoiled by other boxes haha.
This box is really cute!
When are you picking the winner?! I really like this box and want to try it!
Sorry! The winner (Adrienne A.) has been picked and notified.
