Fall 2013 Discover with Marta

Discover with Marta, who kindly sent me their Fall 2013 collection to review, is a collection of deluxe samples of the best anti-aging beauty products from Marta’s (you can read more about her here) favorite companies.  The subscription, which is an annual membership, includes 6 personally curated and exciting deluxe skincare & haircare sample collections per year.

The Box

Discover with Marta ships via USPS First Class.  I *believe* that this box went out to subscribers in October and the next collection, which is the Holiday Collection will ship in December.

First Look

I don’t know much about this subscription, so I was very excited to open it and check out the collection!  It came early last week and I have been busy testing out the items.

The Information Card

The Discover with Marta information card includes not only product information, but also directions on how to use the products in the box.  I should also mention too that subscribers receive 20% off of every item included in the box at the Truth in Aging online shop.

The Fall 2013 Collection included the following items:

~Medik8 CE-Thione ($30.83): This is said to brighten skin tone wgule also improving the texture and the firmness of the skin. I thought it was a little tingly when I put it on the first time, but it made my skin feel great after it settled in. I look forward to seeing how this works after using it for a few weeks. I need to figure out a way to remember to use it though because it’s best if stored in the fridge and I can totally see myself spacing on that.

~Michael Todd Pumpkin Nutrient-Rich Facial Mask ($10): I received this a few months back ipsy and think it’s fabulous. The texture is similar to canned pumpkin and it smells just like it as well. I have been meaning to pick up the fill size of this and getting another sample totally reminded me of that.

~Skinfinite Purify Facial Cleanser ($1.50): I didn’t find this cleanser to be overly amazing, but it worked and made my skin feel nice.  I will certainly finish up the sample, but I don’t know that I’d buy a full size.

Skinfinite Purify Facial Cleanser

~ReLuma Eye Cream ($23.75): I don’t think I’ve been using this long enough to see a reduction in fine lines and under eye circles, but I do think it’s helping with the puffiness under my eyes.

ReLuma Eye Cream

~Your Best Face Clarity! ($9): This is one only item I have yet to try from the box (I’ve been using the pumpkin mask.  You mix this packet with water and honey and it’s suggested to wear dark clothing and use dark washcloths when using it.  Per their website it may stain lighter colors.  The mixture looks quite interesting and I look forward to testing it!

Your Best Face Clarity!

~S.W. Basics of Brooklyn Organic Lip Balm (Cocoa) ($4): Umm, I love this. I received the tin of it last year and I loved every flavor. Cocoa is one of my favorites so this was a totally awesome surprise in here. If you have never tried this brand, I totally recommend putting the tin on your Christmas list!

All totaled I came up with a value of $79.08 for the Fall 2013 Discover With Marta review.  A pretty great value considering that each collection works out to be $24!  I loved being able to sample some higher-end products I never would have tried (or eve heard of) otherwise and love not feeling like I wasted a bunch of money if I turn out not to love something.

What do you thing about Discover With Marta?  Something you’d be interested in?  If you want to sign up or just want to learn more, click here.  As I mentioned, the Fall Collection is no longer available and your subscription would begin with the Holiday Collection which should be headed out shortly!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was received for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
