The furries have been getting totally spoiled lately and yesterday was no exception because their November BarkBox arrived! They get SO excited when the mail person comes to the door (which is like everyday), but if they actually get to go outside and talk to them they act like they could care less.
Barkbox ships via DHL Global Mail and took just under a week to arrive. It certainly could have been worse that’s for sure.
I hadn’t seen any BarkBox pictures yet, so I didn’t know what we’d be getting this month. You can’t tell from this picture, but my box was all ripped on the bottom. Everything was totally fine, but my poor mail has been taking quite a beating this month.
The November BarkBox is all about dogs and the dinner table. BarkBox included pooch-friendly variations of everyone’s favorite comfort foods and toys to keep your furries occupied while you enjoy your meal. Here’s what the box included:
~Pet Lifestyle and You (P.L.A.Y) Stuffed Zucchini ($9.50): Fine. I’ll admit it, I thought this was a banana at first. LOL. Not quite. It’s stuffing is made from post-consumer recycled boxes and is made with the same standards as infant and child products. Totally adorable. These dogs seriously have the chest toys.
~N-Bone Pearly White Chew Bone ($3.99): Baxter and Buddy totally need this and I need to figure out a way to get them to chew on these so they can get the full effect. Any ideas? The vet always recommends a professional teeth cleaning, but if these work that would be much much less expensive.
~Bocce’s Bakery Truffle Mac & Cheese Treats ($5.94): Baxter & Buddy typically don’t like hard treats, but they made an exception for these. They loved them and wolfed them down in seconds. Then stared at me like, umm, give us more of those. They are made from organic barley flour, cheese, turkey bacon and truffled. And that’s it!
~Happy Howie’s All Natural Turkey Treats ($2.99): I broke one of these up and put it in the furries food bowl and they couldn’t eat that food fast enough. Not only did they eat these treats, they ate the rest of the food in the bowl too. Something about different foods even touching their normal food makes it much more tasty.
~Etta Says Crunchy Deer Chew ($3): The dogs were getting along so nicely last night so I didn’t want to start World War 3 and pass out this special treat. Even if I’d have had two of them, this is the kind of thing I suspect they still would have fought over. Kids.
All totaled, the November BarkBox has an estimated value of $25.42. It was more than the monthly cost of the box (which again is $18/month if you subscribe for 6 months or more) and is always something that we look forward to. I’m not sure that the boys look forward to my monthly pictures of them and their box, but they tolerate it because they know they’ll be rewarded with all the goodies from the box!

omg.. your dogs posing with the box just kills me! soo cute!! and spoiled 🙂
They don’t get too close to the box for some reason. LOL!
this is totally unrelated to your furries but i know you were finding all the holiday snacks.. did you see the hot cocoa w/ marshmellow 3 muskeeteers at target.. YUM!
Ohhh, no! Now I need to look for those too!
They are the cutest! I love the picture of them with the box!
They refuse to get too close to it, but they do pose quite nicely for me.
Brushing your pets teeth is the best way to go! If your vet says they need a dental I would do that and then brush or give special treats. They help to keep tartar from building back up. They are not great if they already have dental disease. Small breed dogs tend to have more dental disease then large breeds.
Good to know! Thanks!
I agree with Wendy. There is no treat that will completely remove all the tarter that is already present. Only a dental cleaning under anesthesia will accomplish that. There are some water additives that you can get from vets that will help remove some tarter but with little dogs it is important to stay on top of dental cleanings. They usually will need a dental cleaning every 1-3 years. Especially the shah tzu, lhasa apso, and yorkie breeds because their teeth are almost always overcrowded in their little mouths.
Thank you!
You could try putting some PB (if your dogs like it) on the dental bone first to encourage the chewing. And yeah, most dogs need an annual teeth cleaning and daily teeth brushing. Its expensive and not the most fun, but can save money in the long run from costly extractions. Our dog dentist also recommended not giving dogs anything that you can’t bend, break, or put a fingernail into to prevent breaking a tooth. We avoid hard toys now, but still give an occasional crunchy or bully stick. 🙂
Thanks for the info!
We received the same box, but the zucchini only lasted a couple of hours before she chewed a hole in the end. The treats were all a big hit though! And I love how your boys pose for pictures. Too cute!
LOL! They are so funny!
That zucchini is pretty cool! I got a toy wig ? in my medium box hahah
I browser won’t let me comment on your blog but I went and looked and am cracking up. Is it really a wig?
No hahah! I wore it like a wig. I can’t seem to figure out what it is. People on my facebook have mentioned that it looks like a spider crossbred with a lamb!
