Bonjour Jolie, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a mother-daughter company that provides what you need, as well as what you want, to sail through your monthly periods with ease. Their company is focused on providing a monthly subscription service that discreetly delivers the feminine supplies you need along with product samples and a few things to pamper and sooth you too.
Bonjour Jolie ships via USPS Priority Mail (2 Day) and promises to arrive according to your cycle dates which are selected when you sign up. If needed, you an adjust the dates online without a problem.
I’d seen some spoilers online and was super excited to get my box this month. I love seeing what their “gift” is going to be and I also love never having to remember to pick up any supplies at the store.
The November Bonjour Jolie theme was “A Time for Giving Thanks” and was all about taking time to reflect on what you are thankful for. Here’s what this month’s box included:
~The Supplies: As always, you can select from a combination of up to 25 pads, tampons and / or pantyliners. They have tons of brands and options to select from and if you don’t see your preferred brand, I’d shoot them over an e-mail to see if they can help. I didn’t tai a picture of the pads this month, but I did get 25 items exactly (I counted).
~The Gift – Copper Stone Necklace ($12): I love this necklace and although I don’t wear a ton of copper, I may have to start. Or I was thinking of putting this is just kind of on display in my closet. Maybe in a frame? Kind of just as a little daily reminder of what it’s all about. Is that cheesy?
~The Edibles: The edibles this month were jumbo sea salt caramels from Caramels for Karson (which is an amazing cause by the way) and Motts Flavored Apple Cider. OMG. I was so excited that we didn’t get tea. You have no idea. This was a perfect the perfect fall combination of edibles. Probably my favorite so far.
~The Pampering: This month’s pampering items included Organic Cider Spice Soap by SomervilleSoapWorks, Body Butter by The Concord Soap Company, Sugar Scrub Soap Cubes by All Earthly Things, Calming Bath Oil by Blissful Apothecary and Pure Touch Feminine Wipes. And of course, Advil. B was pawing around this box yesterday and I think he wanted to steal the soap and the sugar cubes. Everything smells amazing and I was quite thankful for that advil today. Couldn’t have come at a better time!
I never do a cost breakdown on Bonjour Jolie, but at $21/month (that includes shipping to the U.S.), I think it’s well worth the price. The fun gifts and the pampering items, and the convince of never having to remember to go to the store totally make it worth it. This may have been one of my favorite Bonjour Jolie boxes yet. I *think* that might be because of the cider in it this month (instead of tea). I know people love tea, but I love cider and hot cocoa (maybe next month??).
What do you think of Bonjour Jolie? Do you like the idea of never having to run to the store and getting fun gifts every month? If you are interested in subscribing or just want some more details, click here.
Omg I love that necklace. I don’t think it’s silly to frame it at all, it is so pretty!
I want to do that with a few necklaces!
I seriously love this sub! October I needed to update my acct credit card number – they were so awesome – totally on top their game with customer service never missed a beat in sending out my box! I will stay with this sub for a long time! Hubby teased me the first month or two like really you can’t buy your own supplies! Um, yes I could but this is way more fun! I love that the Advil is in little per package uses, so convenient to stash in my desk at work.
It’s a box that men can’t even really complain about you getting isn’t it?? It’s a necessity so it doesn’t count towards box budgets ;).
I think there best gifts so far have been the jewelry!! I loved my necklace form September!!! Didn’t care for the Nail Kit last month, Can’t wait for December!
I wonder what they’ll send?? I always like the lip gloss gifts!!
Love your necklace!! My stone is like. Turquoise color!! Love the framing idea!! And those sea salt caramels yum!!!
Those caramels. OMG. So good!
I love this box (it was my second one), but I’ve been upset with their customer service… My last box was a week late, and I need to change my credit card, but emailing them has been a real hassle… Maybe they’re busy, but I wish they were easier to talk to.
That’s no good! It’s a time sensitive box, so being late isn’t good! I hope they get back to you soon!
I’ve had the same problem. mine is supposed to be here this week but i haven’t heard anything back from them. Its kinda odd that people are commenting on facebook talking about how quick they heard back from them.
I wonder if posted on Facebook gets a reply more quickly?? Might be worth a try??
I’ve been having the same problem! I signed up on november 4 and still haven’t received my box. I emailed them 3 times in the last couple weeks with no response. Finally I emailed them a couple days ago saying I wanted to cancel my subscription because you have to email to cancel it and STILL no response! I just looked online to see if this is normal for them and found websites of open complaints about them and people having similar problems. One person was charged 2 months for boxes she didn’t receive and when they finally emailed her back they gave out another subscribers information instead. I was so excited for this box after reading your reviews but it has been a nightmare!
That’s awful!!! I wonder what going on with them?? In going to do some investigating!!
I decided to sign up for Bonjour Jolie because I kept hearing great reviews from various blogs and people on FB but my experience with this has not been good at all. I ordered a Mystery box with them and signed up for a monthly box sometime in the end of October (I want to say it was about the 22nd?) and put my “start date” as November 10th. I have received two tracking numbers dated 11/8 and 11/18 but neither package has moved at all or even been picked up according to USPS.com. I sent customer service 3 emails (each spaced 2-3 days apart) before I finally got a response. **I’d also like to note that I am by nature not a complainer. I’m the type that if my food comes incorrectly while out eating, I’ll eat it as is before ever complaining or sending it back.** They claimed to had sent me two prior emails but I have a hard time believing that since I’ve had no problems with my email and checked my junk folder. Either way, they finally responded and said they would check on my boxes… this was Friday and I still have yet to get any sort of update. I was planning to stay subbed hoping that this was some random fluke due to being a new member but next months charge is right around the corner and to date I still have not received anything. 🙁 I just want your other readers to know that this is happening and they don’t get all great reviews! Had I of heard any negative reviews about them I probably wouldn’t be so disappointed at this point. As well as if Customer Service had been a bit more responsive I might not be so upset. Such a shame too because the boxes look great!
I wonder what the deal is lately??? Considering that this is a time sensitive box, getting it to you as promised is important!!!!!
I have had the same problem. I ordered my first box October 24th with three weeks before I would need it. I recieved an email on November 18th saying the box was on its way. But it didn’t actually get into the mail until November 26th 🙁 so my box finally got here on November 29th. Way past the time I needed it and over 30 days after I ordered it. I loved the box. I didn’t get all the goodies described but I did love what I got. And I am very much looking forward to December’s box. Hoping for better timing. I’m not ready to give up on this box yet!
I wonder what’s going on?? It it’s not getting there on time it totally defeats the point!!!
My first box took six days from getting tracking to leave the warehouse. I emailed asking if I could change the pad to tampon ratio and got a reply that night. The second box (last month) I got tracking 5 days before my period was due. Because of the previous month’s shipping I asked if I could change my date. (That box ended up getting to me after my period was over) It took a while to get a reply, but they said it would be fine. Now, one week before my period, still no tracking. I really like the box, and fortunately I have all the tampons left from last month since I didn’t need them after my period, but the shipping is terrible and customer service isn’t that fantastic if you’re complaining at all.
Hopefully they step things back up! They used to be very responsive.
I really enjoyed all my boxes from Bonjour Jolie! I really loved the cider from November…mm soooo good! I have noticed that they have not responded to any of my emails lately either. I emailed in ref to product change I never received a response like I did when they first started, however the products were changed. My November box arrived and they had packaged it upside down and sent me all the wrong products. I really loved Bonjour Jolie but I’m not for sure what’s going on 🙁
Yeah, I don’t know what’s been going on with them? Hopefully it returns to the ways things were soon!
I don’t usually publically complain, but I think I have to add that the same thing has happened to me as the above comments. I ordered a box for my 15 year old, it took 23 days to get the first box. Then the very next week payment was taken out for box #2 I had no idea what to expect for box #2, when payment would be taken out etc. and had sent Three emails asking when, but no response. And no box #2, it’s been weeks. I’m saddened by the lack of customer help, and a little nervous about having a company be able to automatically deduct money from my account, but have no way of contacting them.
The box, however, was fabulous. Loved everything. Crossing my fingers they get the kinks worked out. I wanna believe positively about this company, maybe they are just swamped with orders and are figuring out the business.
Updating from my previous comment:
I emailed Bonjour Jolie and received a reply within a day from Charlene.
She left me a very helpful, and clearly written email that addressed all my
concerns, with links to their website where I could find additional info I was
looking for. I think this is a reputable and good company that is just really, really busy!
Thanks for the update!
Bonjour Jolie has terrible customer service, and whatever shipping they use is heavily unreliable OR they are not being honest about boxes that are supposedly shipped.
In September, I was told by De that my box would be shipped on the 13th. I said I wanted it by the 24th, so that was totally fine, except it didn’t arrive. I reached out to them, via email, on the 23rd, 25th, and the 27th, as well as twice on Facebook. I received an auto reply, saying they were closed for a week, which is not ideal, but what can you do. I was hoping the girl they use for Facebook would shed some light, except all she could say is that I needed to “direct all questions to accounts@…” – no apology, not even a hello.
I finally hear back, and De apologizes profusely, saying that they were refunding me for September and giving me October and November for free, as well as sending their Facebook girl to an online customer service learning program, so she knows how to properly interact with customers. They are sadly out of September boxes, so they send the October box immediately, and I receive it very, very early, obviously, but with no issues.
November rolls around, and I was not sure if to expect the box very early again, but I waited until the 18th to reach out to request the status. For whatever reason, I never receive tracking information, so it’s always a guess. They reply, saying that according to tracking, it was delivered on the 15th, and didn’t I get it? – I look at the tracking information they included, saw it was delivered to the completely incorrect zip-code, and informed them. It took awhile for them to sort out, but they got a new box sent to me, which I received the very end of the month.
December rolls around, and I’m assuming because the November box was delivered (incorrectly) on the 15th, I should have the December box on or around the 15th, as well. I reach out on the 19th, 23rd, and 26th, requesting a status, tracking information, anything, but all I get is an autoreply saying they are closed from the 24th to the 1st – not unsurprising, however I emailed them twice before their holiday vacation, and still got no response.
The 2nd of January rolls around, and no one contacts me until I reach out yet again, requesting assistance. I received an email from Charlene saying they were closed from the 20th to the 1st, “so naturally we could not have gotten back to you until now”. I reply, saying the autoreply message I received said they were closed from the 24th, meaning I reached out to them twice before their break, and I asked if the autoreply was incorrect. She responds quickly with “autoreply said the 20th thru the 1st”
Um, no, it didn’t. At this point, I was fed up with her, so I forwarded her the autoreply that I received from them, which clearly said the 24th through the 1st, and I told her I wanted to be refunded and my account with them canceled.
I have something of a small obsession for subscription boxes, so I have tried several dozen varieties. I have never encountered such unreliable shipping practices as these – either they need to reevaluate their shipper or they are lying about boxes supposedly going out. I’m going to hazard a guess and say it is the second. How is it I never have had any issues with any other company or vendor I buy from, and yet I’ve had issues with them three of the four past months?
Their customer service is atrocious and utterly laughable, too. I worked full-time in restaurant management during college, which involved an expertise in customer service and problem resolution. I since moved on to my real career, however I guarantee I could still provide significantly better customer service than any of the people I’ve encountered in this company. I will not be wasting another cent of my money or my time with them.
This is a time sensitive box so you’d think shipping it to customers based on the date they need it would be #1 priority! It’s possible it’s harder than they thought to manage that, but who knows??
I hope you find another time of the month box you love!!!!
I searched for reviews of Bonjour Jolie to see if others were having the same problems I had, and sure enough, they are. I gave them an incorrect date to start with, so when my first box finally arrived in September I messaged and asked them to send it a week earlier the next month. They promptly responded and said they would, and they did in October. But in November they actually sent it LATER than they had the first time, even though I had corrected the date with them. And since they are a company that deals with periods, shouldn’t they know a cycle is 28 days and if you send a box the same date every month, after a few months you are now a week late no matter what?? I messaged and told them that regretfully I would have to cancel because of this– I loved the packages but I can’t justify it if it isn’t arriving when it’s supposed to. They never even replied. If they had said “we’re so sorry, we will fix it next month” or “we will give you $5 off your next one” I would have given them another shot, but they appeared not to care at all. I know they got the message because the boxes stopped. It’s annoying because I thought their selections and packaging were excellent, but they couldn’t get the timing right on a time-specific product.
I love them! I just joined for December and My Cotton Bunny as well. It was my plan to have both and decide to keep the better one and cancel the other. Darn if they weren’t both awesome! I will have to keep both for another month. Not a big problem with the girl things either since my teenage daughter was able to gladly take them off my hands. I loved the necklace. Mine looked like that one you have but the teardrop shaped bead was opaque jade green. I have actually worn the necklace a couple of times to work. As far as the dates go, I never worry about whether it is late or not… I am not that organized nor do I generally cut it that close.
I have this same problem with the Nerd Block and the Loot Crate subs. I can’t tell from December’s boxes which one I need to cancel…
Buyers BEWARE…… This company is completely unrealiable. I placed an order on 1/30, received my first box as planned on 2/19 and really liked it. Since then I have been charged 2 more times but have not received any boxes in 2 months. I have contacted customer service and complained but they do not respond. In addition they claim they have an open chat from 10-4 but there is no way to access this chat. I have since sent them an email to cancel my subscription but have heard no rely as of yet… Please put something on your website warning potential customers, I sure wish I had seen all of these bad reviews before I ordered my box….
