November Citrus Lane

Well, my subscription boxes (and a bunch of other mail I’d been expecting) were released by whoever was holding them hostage today and boy oh boy did I get a lot of mail. I was out chatting with my neighbors when the mail lady arrived and they were cracking up at pile of boxes she was bringing to my door! And happily, two of those boxes were my November Citrus Lane ones!

The Box

Citrus Lane ships USPS via Narvar (?). I had (have) three CL boxes coming this month and two started off moving super quickly and then took 4 days to get from Indiana to Michigan.   The two of them that arrived today are aged for a three and a half year old boy and a gender neutral one for a 2 month-old.  No, no, no, I am not pregnant.  However, one of my best friends is so I am collecting little gifts for her from these boxes.  And the 42 month-old box is just a random age I picked and it seems to be working out well for both of my boys.  The other one (WB’s normal box which included some add-ons) shipped later and will probably be here Monday and I’ll do a review on that when it arrives.

First Look

I had seen spoilers for all of the age groups, but I still wasn’t totally sure what to expect because there seemed to be some variations even within age groups.  I could see right away that this was the variation I was hoping for ;).

The Information Card

This November, Citrus Lane included some items to help you through the holiday travel season.  We’ve always got something going on (holiday or not) so any items to help make traveling easier are much appreciated.  Here’s what was included in the 3.5 year old box:

~Build-A-Burger from Green Toys ($8): This is a Citrus Lane exclusive so I had to estimate the price.  I love green toys stuff and this is awesome.  WB is still too little to play kitchen, but L still plays and loves making me these giant pretend sandwiches and burgers to eat.  This will be a great addition to our kitchen toys.

~Lunch Tote from Bumkins ($12.95): I don’t necessarily need another lunch tote, but I also don’t mind having more.  I pack L a lunch and a snack daily and I always use two separate bags. It’s just easier than trying to tell him what is suppose to be snack and what is suppose to be lunch.

~Beeswax Crayons ($4.99) & Doodle Paper ($2.49) from Faber-Castle: These are going in my bag for all those times when I need to entertain the boys at a restaurant or heck even out shopping.  And we were JUST talking tonight about how we didn’t have enough crayon color options at CPK (*) for one of their menu activities.  Had I had these, it wouldn’t have been an issue.

~Organicasaurus Baked Organic Corn Snack from Good Boy Organics ($1):  We’ve gotten these in other snack boxes and the boys love them.  I don’t know if it’s the taste or the fact that they are shaped like dinosaurs.  Or both?  Either way they are a welcome item.

~Four Sets of Address Labels & Free Shipping from Tiny Prints: Since these are “free” with a $99 purchase I am not going to include a value to them.  I have ordered holiday cards from them in the past, but I just order from my friend’s Etsy shop now.

All totaled the November 2013 Citrus Lane Box (for 3.5 year-old / 42 month-old boy) had a value of $29.43.  Not a super “valuable” box, but every single item will be used and is a great fit for us.

November Citrus Lane (2 Month-Old)

My second (third?) Citrus Lane box, for a two month-old included: a Twist Teether from Green Toys ($10.99), a Clutch from Boon ($11.99), Starter Bib from Bumpkins ($4.95), Lip Comfort from Pur~lisse ($16) and the same Tiny Prints offer for a grand total of $43.93.  I LOVED this box and cracked into the lip comfort right away and am obsessed with the clutch (which is a Citrus Lane exclusive color) already.  I think it’s going to be great for sippy cup pieces!  Luckily I have a few months left on this subscription so I can still get some gifts for my friend from it;).

Did you get Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  Citrus Lane has expanded their box offerings and you can now select a Basic Box ($12/month) which contains two items, the Classic Box ($25/month) which is what they have always offered and includes four to five items and the Deluxe Box ($49/month) which includes everything from the Classic Box and additional premium toys and goodies.

If you are interested in ordering or want to learn more, click here.  And don’t forget you can use the code “TAKEHALF” to save 50% off your first box (from ANY of the categories).  That’d make the Basic Box only $6 next month!
