I was shocked earlier in the week when I received a e-mail letting me know that my November GLOSSYBOX had shipped. They usually ship more towards the end of the month than the middle of the month, but not this month!
GLOSSYBOX ships via USPS and took about five days to arrive. Not too bad, but I do feel like the holiday shipping has picked up and it has started to tack a few days on deliveries.
When I was cleaning out my closet this weekend I came across my stash of empty GB boxes. I cannot part with them. They are just too “good” to throw away. In about twenty years I’m going to be on Hoarders explaining to them why I can’t part with these empty boxes. I’m kidding of course. Sort of.
I peeked at some spoilers on MUT (Makeuptalk) this week so I basically knew what to expect. GLOSSYBOX does send out some variations though (not sure what that’s based on), so you don’t full know what you will get until it arrives.
The November GLOSSYBOX was inspired by “Holiday Romance” and is all about pairing matte skin with bold and dramatic shades on the eyes and the lips. Here is what this month’s box included:
~Emite Makeup Micronized Eye Shadow (Dams) ($27): I just got a black eye shadow (my first ever) in my PopSugar NM box so I will likely be passing this one along It’s highly pigmented and can be used wet or dry. I know exactly who I am giving this too (a friend’s teenage daughter who is really into the bold eye / bright lips thing) and she is going to be so excited!
~Mastey Color Protecting Leave-In Oil Treatment ($25): I thought for sure that this was a sample, but nope, this is the full size. It’s a leave-in treatment for dry / damaged / color treated hair. I tested it out and it didn’t magically repair by hair (at least not with just one use), but it did leave it nice and shiny!
~Nicka K New York Professional Eyeshadow Brush ($4.99): I love that they included a brush along with the shadow this month. I know most people already have tools, but I have a tendency to lose things like this, so I appreciate the spare.
~Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Cream ($18.51): No matter how much I like this cream or how amazing it makes my skin look, this $220/bottle cream will not one of my new holy grails. I put it on as soon as I received the box and my skin felt great, but still. It’s expensive! But that is one of the reasons I like GB. They include lots of high-end brands I may never have the chance to sample otherwise! Oh and I believe that this was one of (the only perhaps) variation this month. Some subscribers received this while others received a Jelly Pong Pong Duo Eye Pencil.
~The Aloe Source Jojoba Radiance Cleansing Polish ($4.48): Ohh, this smells amazing! Seriously. While this is the least “valuable” item in the box, I think I loved it the most. I only used it once (last night), but it made my skin feel amazing.
All totaled I came up with a value of $79.98 for the November GLOSSYBOX! Not my favorite GLOSSYBOX ever, but as always it was an incredible value and was well worth the $21/month price tag on the box. They always have the most amazing value boxes and I love it!
