Like I mentioned last month, I subscribed to PijonBox when they were on one of the deal sites (Living Social I believe) a while back. PijonBox is a monthly subscription box geared towards college students. Each PijonBox includes 5-6 products selected just for college students (subscriptions are customized by male and female – I got the female) and contain a value of $30-$50 per box.
PijonBox ships via FedEx Smart Post and took a long time to get to me. Like over a week. I think the holiday added time to it?
While the PijonBox is quite large, it has a lot of packaging material and empty space in it. My best guess is sometimes they sent larger items and they only have one sized box? Not too sure. But it is quite a large box as you can see.
The November PijonBox theme is “Thanksgiving On-the-Go” and basically includes everything you need to get you through the holiday and to stay healthy at the same time. Here’s what it included:
~Mediterranean Snacks Tapaz 2 Go ($2.99): Mmm, so good. I love these types of snack packs and buy them all the time. They are awesome because they don’t need to be refrigerated. Not really sure how that works, but I don’t want to think too much about it. Hopefully I can find these in a store by more because I already want more.
~Mamma Chia Squeeze Vitality Snacks (Green Magic and Strawberry Banana) ($3.58): I can’t get into the pouch trend for adults, but I think if I put them in a bowl to eat I’ll be fine. Is it weird that I don’t like eating right out of a pouch? I don’t know if I would have eaten pouches when I was in college? Maybe. If they came free in the mail I’m guessing I would have ;).
~RevitaPop The MB12 LolliPop ($8.16): Well I certainly could use a little more B12 in my life so why don’t give these a go? They taste good (I tried during nap time) and look forward to having one tomorrow. I can’t eat one when WB’s around of he’ll freak out because he’ll want a sucker too.
~pHresh Deodorant (Sugar Mist) ($7.99): This is awesome. It smells great and I constantly forget to buy deodorant. I am putting this away in the closet for that day when I run out and I go in there with my fingers crossed hoping I have some. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. When I don’t I just use B’s (one benefit of being married), but next time I will be all set ;).
~Waxelene ($4.99): I wasn’t sure why I needed a “petroleum jelly alternative”, but as I read more about it I understood why people would prefer it. It’s made from natural beeswax and the highest quality natural & organic oils instead of petroleum. I do love it (even though I already broke the cap_ and plan on using it on my hands and feet at night, however, I don’t know that it’s something I would buy on a regular basis as it’s also quadruple the price of the other stuff.
~Light My Fire Sporks ($8.85): How cool are these? A fork, a spoon and a knife in one! I am going to pack these in L’s lunch. It’s much easier to keep track of one utensil than it is to keep track of three. Plus I know he will think it’s cool!
~Color Club Nail Polish (Poptastic) ($8): You can’t go wrong with nail polish and this is a great color. I always love getting Color Club in my Birchboxes, so I was excited to see this brand in here. And yeah, this isn’t really a fall color, but it works for me.
All totaled I came up with a value of $44.56! Boxes starts at $25/month, but I bought the 4-month deal through Living Social for $49 (or $12.25/month), so once again I am quite pleased with the deal I got. I am going to be sad when my subscription is up because I am loving this box. Boxes are sent during the Fall Semester (September – December) and the Spring Semester (February – May) to ensure your student is at school when it arrives.
What do you think of PijonBox? Sadly the amazing Living Social deal is over, but if you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn a little more, click here.
I ordered the dude one because my husband is in grad school (that’s how I justified it) and got mostly the same stuff except for a body wash that is all natural and smells amazing. And some reusable food pouches too. Score! Anyway, I posted photos on my blog if you want to check it out. And what’s up with the ginormous boxes? Such a waste!
Seriously. These boxes are huge!
Did your deodorant look normal? Mine didn’t fill the space of the container. If it was just me I want to contact Pijon Box and let them know!
I guess there was some space between the deodorant and the walls of the container, but I just assumed it was supposed to be like that?
Just an fyi, I received that deodorant in other boxes—do not rely on it if the day is warm. And if you do, carry it with you….
Good to know!!!! Thank you!
Love those sporks!!
So cool.
I bought the Living Social deal too. The past two months have seemed to be centered around food, whereas the boxes before this deal looked more useful (laundry detergent, decorations for the room, etc.). I hope they step the December box up a bit.
I need to go back and look! Did you subscribe before the deal as well?
omg this reminds me! i need to harass you know who about unpacking his box!! E already stole the strawberry banana chia, i think the pops are fine for kids (they are actually used to get b12 into autistic kids it seems), we have some sporks already and now we have a full set PLUS i can have another kid and be cool.
I don’t know if I could talk my husband into doing unboxings. He would be so annoyed with me.
he actually put the photos on the photo stream this morning right after i wrote that. i think he likes it. he sure does like getting all his fun stuff in the mail.
He knew you were going to get after him! That’s awesome!
So bummed I didn’t activate my LivingSocial deal in time to get this box. Definitely signing up before December!!
I couldn’t wait to redeem mine! But now I am jealous you will get those Spring months that I won’t get!
