November PoochPax

PoochPax, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box for dogs. Every month you and your pooch will get a hand-selected box of 4-6 age appropriate treats and toys you and your pooch are guaranteed to love. Boxes are customized based on the size / weight of your dog and start at $19/month.

The Box

PoochPax ships via USPS Parcel select and I believe it took around a week to arrive.  My mail has been off lately, so my tracking times this month might be longer than normal.  Some of my boxes were actually even saying that they were delivered when they really hadn’t been?

First Look

Santa has to bring Baxter and Buddy Christmas gifts and of course Baxter and Buddy need to give their cousins (my brother and SIL’s three dogs) gifts, so I was eyeing this up for sure.

The Information Card

PoochPax’s information card doesn’t have detailed product information.  Rather it has some information about PoochPax including social media information.  I believe they are still fairly new, so hopefully this is something that changes going forward.  Here is what our PoochPax contained:

~A-Plus Frog Rope Toy ($~5): The furries just got this same toy (except it was a monkey I believe) and although I was planning on saving it until Christmas, the kids got their hands on it and gave it to the dogs.  Who love it.  I don’t think it would work well for heavy chewers, but WB and Buddy (who pulls at like 10% of his strength when playing with WB) had a good time with it.

~Smokehouse Pet Products Bacon Twist ($2.49): I am going to break / cut this in half for the boys so they can each have a piece. Although, like always, one dog will end up with both pieces and then they will growl at each other the rest of the night.  Also, this is made is the USA, which I know is huge these days with dog treats.

~Himalayan yaky yam Lotsa Chicken ($4.99): Another made in the USA treat, these will turn into a gift for my brother’s dogs.  I end up passing along a lot of treats to them because they have about 120 pounds of dogs living at their houses while my boys total *maybe* 25 pounds, so they go through a lot more treats than I do.

~Exclusively Dog Smoochers Pumpkin Flavored Dog Treats ($5.99):  These treats, again made in the USA, are soft and chewy and are made with pumpkin and hint of yogurt among other things.  Baxter and Buddy loved them and I loved that they were not super huge because sometimes L and WB go a little over the top doling out treats to the furries.

~Flash & Glow Interactive Dog Toy ($8.95): I think this is the Jr. size, but it’s too big for Baxter and Buddy.  They probably could carry it if they had to, but they’d only try if another dog were running towards them trying to steal it.  This will either end up gifted with the snacks or my boys will take it.  They love all that glow-in-the-dark stuff and they will not care that this was a dog toy.

~spunkeez Dog Toy (~$4): I am way too excited about this.  We used to have a similar one and I have no idea where that thing went.  The dogs loved it and while they never figured out how they could play tug of war TOGETHER with it, it works well (for them) when we play.

All totaled I came up with a value of $31.42 for the November PoochPax!  One month of PoochPax is $29, however, if you order 6-months, the price drops down to $19/month.  Either way the items were over the cost of the box and I loved that all of the treats were Made in the US!!
