Winter Yuzen
Winter Yuzen

Yuzen is a quarterly subscription box that sends you a little Zen for every season.  Each box includes high-quality natural and organic personal care products, healthy snacks, and lifestyle items carefully chosen from about 6 companies. Earlier this year Yuzen switched to quarterly instead of monthly boxes which I kind of like!

The Box

Yuzen ships via USPS Priority Mail and, once shipped, my box took the stated two days to arrive.  Yuzen must bill / ship in batches because I saw some people getting their boxes a few weeks ago while others (like me) are just getting theirs now.

Once opened, Yuzen’s outer packaging revealed a box which is gift-giving ready.  Everything is perfectly packed in an organza bag and you can tell that someone spent a great deal of time packing these bags.  I always say this, but you tell that they take great pride in their boxes and want your experience to be amazing.

The Information Card

The Winter Yuzen Box was all about treating yourself to a little zen.  This season Yuzen curated a box of holiday care to make sure that we stay pampered, nourished, replenished and sparkling.  Here’s what it included:

~Jane Iredale 24-Karat Gold Dust ($13.50): Gorgeous! It can be used on your eyelids, in your hair or to add highlights to your cheeks. Basically anywhere you want some shimmer this will make it happen.

~Jurlique Rose Hand Cream ($9.38):  No hand cream comes in this house without me trying it these days.  This felt a little greasy, but also keep my hands feeling soft for a long time.  The scent is not what I’d normally pick, but I don’t hate it either.  Lots of mixed feelings on this one!

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream

~Kerstin Florian FuB Balm ($8.12):  One of the things I love abut Yuzen is that they send me so many unique items I never would have heard of otherwise.  I loved this (although I had a hard time opening it after putting on the hand cream) and it had a “cooling” effect when I put it on.  And the scent is very spa-like, which I also appreciated!

~Level Naturals Travel Candle (Forest) ($6.67): I keep smelling this candle and I can’t decide if I love it or hate it.  It’s certainly different.  Did anyone else get this box?  What’d you think of this scent?  I swear I have opened this tin up a dozen times.  I just don’t know.

Level Naturals Travel Candles

~PINO Facial Mask ($3.99): I am on a skin care roll this month and look forward to testing this out.  Any extra attention I can give to my skin without spending a ton of time or money works for me.

PINO Facial Mask

~Sanitas Moisture Mist ($5.40):  I wasn’t sure about this, but I sprayed it on my face as soon as I opened the box and it felt nice.  My skin felt smoother and softer for sure, but the recommended use is to spray on before you use moisturizer.  I’ll give it a go for a few weeks and see what happens?  Maybe my moisturizer isn’t soaking in as it should and now it will?

Sanitas Moisture Mist

~SpaRitual Golden Rule Lacquer ($6.50): I think it pretty much goes without saying, but I love this.  First of all it’s a mini nail polish.  Love.  And second of all it’s a glittery one.  Love.  Maybe over a bright red for the holidays?  I can’t wait.

SpaRitual Golden Rule Lacquer

~Sun Cup Dark Chocolate Chocolate Mint Cups ($2.40): I have received these in a box before but I can’t put my finger on what box?  It’s driving me crazy.  So crazy that I stopped this review to GTS.  They were in Goodies and Conscious Box, but with different packaging.  Totally good, but also not reeses ;).

Sun Cup Dark Chocolate Chocolate Mint Cups

~Tara Spa Therapy Stress Relief Roll-On Remedy ($2.41): This essential oil can be applied anytime, anywhere and is suppose to give you instant balancing, energizing and stress-relief benefits.  I wasn’t overly worked up when I tried it, but as the holiday season wears on I will be trying it again.

Tara Spa Therapy Stress Relief Roll-On Remedy

All totaled I came up with a value of $58.40 for the winter Yuzen Box! Boxes are $33/quarter and once again I loved this box.  I think it’s a perfect quarterly subscription for me because would be too many things (for me) monthly, but quarter is spot on!
