I wasn’t expecting it, but I received my December Austin Lloyd box yesterday!  In case you aren’t familiar, Austin Lloyd, is a subscription box of educational toys for children under 3. They aim to take the guess work out of choosing toys that your child will enjoy, while also gaining skills that aide in their overall development. Each box contains 4-5 educational toys and typically at least one book.  I did a review for them last month and enjoyed the box so much that I took advantage of their Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal and ordered a December Box!

The Box

Austin Lloyd ships via USPS Priority Mail and if I got a shipping notification, I never saw it.  Their Facebook page said that they were sent though, so who knows what I did with mine.

First Look

Just like last month everything was perfectly packaged and ready to give as a gift if that is what you had ordered it for.  Every order had a personalized name tag and includes an envelope labeled with the age of the box you selected (WB box is for a 19-24 month-old) which holds the information cards.

Second First Look

Totally loved the first look and you know who loved it even more than me?  WB who was over my shoulder the entire time I was taking these pictures trying to grab stuff out of the box.

The Information Cards

The box included a general information card about the Play Level (you can read more about them here) of the box which gives some general information on how your child is playing at this age. This month’s card had the same theme as last months (which was Thanksgiving), so I’m not too sure what happened there. I don’t see a clear theme with this one, but that’s fine.  It included the following:

~Little Owls Night Book ($6.99): Totally adorable little book about an owl who wonders why anyone would rather be awake during the day than at night.  I pretty much love all books I get (Austin Lloyd always sends one, if not two books).  It takes a lot for me not to like a children’s book and I can only think of a handful that I am not into.

~Hush Little Polar Bear ($7.19): Another totally cute book and this is the one that WB was eyeing.  I think it’s because it has a “doggie” (he thinks everything is a dog) on the from!

~Melissa & Doug Classic Owl Stacker ($12.99): We have (had?) the penguin version of this, but we can’t seem to find all the pieces  anymore.  Boo.  But now we have an adorable owl which is even better.  WB likes to stack things, so this is going to going to be awesome.

~Hape Qube Play Numbers ($9.99): You know I love these!  I have a bunch that I traded for when they came in the Citrus Lane box  and I think I am going to give the shapes to WB and the numbers to L.  I think these will be great for math problems.

~Haba Plug and Pile The Royal Tower ($27.54): How adorable this this?  I have found memories of playing with wooden blocks for hours and hours in the basement when I was a little girl and I would shave loved this.  WB is an excellent block builder, but still does love to knock down his creations right after!

All totaled I came up with a value of $64.70 for the December Austin Lloyd box for a 19-24 month old.  And one again I loved this box! Everything was perfect for WB and it’s all high quality things from great brands! Subscriptions are $49.99/month and decrease to $44.99/month if a 6-month subscription is purchased.  You can also opt to receive boxes every other month if you prefer.

OMG! So glad I ordered…this box is amazing (same as yours)! I’m wrapping these all up for Christmas.

Funny, both the Numbers and Colors, and the Royal Tower were very much opened and a bit of a mess. My Owl book was a bit scuffed up, as well. Not a real issue, as they’re fine, but it makes me wonder where / how they source these toys, haha.

My numbers block box was kind of icky. I think it’s because it didn’t fit well in the box? My other stuff was okay though!

we have the penguin which I love too but NF likes to hit things (me) with the middle pole like a stick weapon and it hurts!! We also don’t have all the pieces in one place at the moment either.

I wonder where our penguin pieces are anyway.

I got another 35 coupon for Hello Fresh but I’m still not in their delivery area; if someone wants the code it’s 3B04_84CHZ7H! :3
