Peach Dish, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a weekly meal subscription service. They deliver a box of fresh, pre-portioned ingredients and recipes to your home to make 2 three-course dinners for 2 people every week! They have revamped their service since my last review when they sent one meal per week.
Previously boxes were shipped via USPS Priority Mail, however, they have since switched their shipping to UPS. My box took two days to arrive from Atlanta.
I was anxious to see what the meals were and also how the packaging had changed. In my first Peach Dish shipment I had been a little worried that the food wasn’t “chilly” enough, so I was hoping that the new shipping method had solved that issue.
I am pleased to report that the meat (and other items) arrived cool and in perfect condition. The meat is packed separately in with an ice pack and is wrapped in plastic. This weeks meals were as follows:
Meal #1: The first meal began with 4-Pepper Goat Cheese & Crackers, which is totally not something we would ever eat on our own. At least I wouldn’t anyway. It was good to try, but I probably wouldn’t have it again. The main course was Grapefruit & Terragon Mahi-Mahi with Braised Fennel & Coconut Rice. I liked this one way more than I expected. I don’t normally like grapefruit, but with this it worked. B really liked this one too and we’d actually probably make it again. Maybe with a mango salsa instead though. The third course, aka dessert was Coconut Milk Hot Chocolate. This too was better than expected. Very sweet, but good. Not like I want to have it every night good, but good.
Meal #2: The second meal (which we actually ate first) began with Holeman & Finch French Bread, which we thought was delicious. The main course was Seared Chateau Wings, which umm, to me was steak? Along with that was Tangerine Smashed Sweet Potatoes & Caramelized Onions. This meal was amazing. We would for sure have this one again. As is! The dessert course was Pomegranate & Chocolate Drops, which too was quite good.
I love the changes that Peach Dish has made and think that their new service, which is $50/week (which works out to $12.50/meal) is great! I kind of like that they pick the meals for me since neither one of these were necessarily meals I would have chosen for myself.
