My December Tyler Florence Fancy Box was the 2nd Fancy Box I opened up today. I asked B which one I should do next and he just stared at me like I had two heads. He couldn’t even believe I was asking!

The Box

Fancy Box ships via FedEx and always takes two days to arrive to me. They ship out of a facility on MA, so it gets here nice and quickly. I was shocked to see all those Fancy Box notifications in my e-mail on Thursday! They must have really worked to get those out before the holidays and I totally appreciate it. I was so not expecting any of these until January.

First Look

The December Tyler Florence Fancy Box was heavy! I think that’s why B was so interested in it. He was so anxious to see what was so heavy. And I was too.  I looked right away for some information cards, but my box didn’t have any.  Boo! It wasn’t too hard to figure out what everything was and what it was used for though, but still.  Here is what I received:

~Amici Set of 6 Hermetic Spice Jars (Set of 6) ($16):  I have a feeling that I am not going to end up using these for spices!  I may rehome them to house some office supplies or something like that.  We have a whole rack on the pantry wall full of spice and these probably wouldn’t fit.  And would look cuter in my office anyway ;).

~Amici Chalkboard Labels ($11): I love chalkboard labels!  These and my new Target One Spot chalk pens?  Perfection.

~Tyler Florence Classic Pot Roast Sauce ($9): I haven’t had pot roast in years, but I guessing B would love to have this for dinner one night over break.

~Sagaform Oil and Vinegar Oak Set ($26): We have a lot of kitchen “stuff”, but an oil and vinegar set is something we do not have!  B has already put it in his “area” in the kitchen and wasn’t like yeah, just put this in the basement, so I think it’s a win!

~Tyler Florence California Sea Salt ($7): This is a HUGE package of sea salt and is probably the main reason this box weighed so much.  It’s mined right in the inter-coastal marshlands of picturesque Sonoma county, California and B is thrilled with this.   We use sea salt all the time and he loves trying new ones.

~Old River Road Regal Snowflake Cookie Cutter ($11): The pictures of the cookies on the Fancy website for this look, well, fancy!  My cookies won’t end up quite this amazing, but I love this cookie cutter and it will totally get used. For cookies and sandwiches.

All totaled the December Tyler Florence Fancy Box had a value of $80, which is almost double the cost of the box ($39 + $7.95 shipping).  While the Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box is my favorite celebrity Fancy box, the Tyler Florence one is B’s favorite!

Man, I can’t decide to get the Tyler Box or the regular Fancy Food box. Too many choices!

    1. Jennifer

That is a hard decision! I guess it depends on if you want food or gadgets??

We have a set of those adorable hermetic spice jars. I buy a few big bags of M&M’s and let pattrik sort them by color into the jars. Then we display them on top of our piano. They look adorable and make great “reward” snacks.

      Great idea!

Great box! I love the idea of snowflake sandwiches!

For some reason sandwiches cut into shapes get eaten better.

I love this whole box. It is awesome. I need some of those little jars for when I’m organizing my office next week.

Do they have them this small at IKEA.

This was my first Fancy box, and I was really happy. I too have a lot of kitchen “stuff” so was a little apprehensive that it would just be repeats of things I have already, or things I pretty much wouldn’t use. But I don’t have a vinegar and oil set, and this one seems really nicely made, and I think I’ll be keeping it out, not just shoving it in a corner somewhere.

I just so happened to get 6 spices in little baggies with ribbons in my Christmas goodies, and oh look, 6 brand new spice jars that were the perfect size to fit them!

Definitely keeping this one for next month.

      That worked out perfectly!!!!
