My December Wantable Makeup box actually arrived in November (love that), but I am just getting around to sharing my review today. If you aren’t familiar, Wantable offers 4 to 5 full-sized premium makeup products, hand-picked to perfectly match your preferences. They also offer intimates and jewelry boxes, again customized to your preferences. And unlike the majority of other subscription boxes, Wantable allows you to return the box if you aren’t totally 100% happy. You just go into your account, go to your order history and click “Return Items” and you’ll get a prepaid label and a full refund. No harm, no foul. I love that!
Wantable ships via USPS First Class and only took a few days to get to me. They are in WI and I am in MI, so it doesn’t have to travel too far.
Wantable briefly experimented with revamping their subscription and instead of offering 4-5 items, they were going to offer 3-4 items per box. Happily they have changed back to the 4-5 items and plan to continue with this model going forward! I received 4 items this month, plus a sample.
Wantable has the most thorough questionnaire of any box out there. You tell them what products you “Love”, “Like” and “Dislike” and they will send you more of your “Love” items than your “Like” items, but they will never send you any of your “Dislike” items. You also give color preferences, etc. in your profile. I actually need t go in and revamp my profile because I want to expand my options a bit. Maybe move some of the Dislikes into Like and also some of the Loves into likes. I think I am being too restrictive.
Since Wantable boxes are so customized they don’t have a fancy information card. Cards are printed on regular paper and include a little about the box and detailed product information. The December Wantable box was guest curated with Christine Mikesell) and my box included the following:
~Girlactik Beauty Glam Eye Powder (Nude Glam) ($17): I fear that my picture of this doesn’t do it justice. It’s a gorgeous shimmery powder (not too crazy though) and I wouldn’t mind getting the other colors as well! I received the Girlactik Beauty Heaven’s Dust Angel Gold last month and thought that was great as well. I am digging this brand.
~Color Club Nail Polish (Baldwin Blues) ($8): I actually received this same color in this month’s Birchbox (that one was a mini though), so I will probably end up passing this on to a friend. It’s a great color though and I liked it then and I still like it now!
~yourMinerals Rouge (Rose Hip) ($24): This is a fun pink / bronze shimmer blush and totally brightens up your face. I tried it briefly and liked the color and after this weekend, I need some brightening up of my face ;).
~StarLooks Single Eye Shadow Compact (Sparkling Ember) ($12): StarLooks is everywhere lately aren’t they? They have their own subscription boxes and they have appeared in a few other boxes recently as well. This probably isn’t a color I would have grabbed on my own (I always grab for browns and tans), but it’s not totally out there so I’ll try!
All totaled I came up with a value of $61 for my December Wantable Box. I didn’t include the value of the soap (in the small blue package) because it was considered a sample. Wantable boxes start at $36/month and right now Wantable is offering a Cyber Monday deal which lets you get your second box FREE! Yep, you buy a box and you’ll get your next one free. That’s $18/box for two months. Amazing right? This deal ONLY goes through the end of the day today so act fast if you are interested. It will also work on the Intimates or Jewelry Boxes in addition to the Makeup box! I really need to give the Intimates box a god soon!
