I was so excited when I got the e-mail saying that I had gotten selected for the Braun Forehead Thermometer Influenster VoxBox (#BraunTherms)! I got the pre-selection survey and was like please please pick me to review this (they send complimentary products). And they did! This is perfect for us. For real.
If you aren’t familiar with Influenster, it is a free-to-join community of trendsetters, social media masterminds, and educated consumers who live to give opinions of products and experiences. They invite members to sample their “VoxBox” programs, totally free of charge in exchange for sharing honest opinions in via reviews and on special media. You don’t need to have a blog to be eligible or anything like that. Anyone can sign-up!
We’ve been using an in-ear thermometer which I thought (before I got this) was great for years. But this? OMG I love. Of course when it came in the mail last week, B immediately ripped into it and we all took our temperature. It takes seconds and we can even get WB be still long enough for that.
As luck (?) would have it, we got to take our first “real” temperature just days later when WB came down with some totally odd virus that got his fever up to like 102, had him throwing up and crazy crabby but seriously lasted only hours. And then we got to try it again this weekend when L got the flu (his lasted 12 hours). The display doesn’t just give you the temperature. Oh no. It shows colors based on your temperature too. Green = you’re okay. Yellow = meh. Low grade fever. Red = fever. Even the sleepiest mom can handle reading this at 3am (trust me).
The box didn’t say what the value of this was, but I did a little search and found that Walmart is selling it for $29! It’s out of stock online, but a few stores near me showed as having it. TRU is selling it for $52 so that’s clearly a deal. I totally recommend this. B even loves it.
Have you ever gotten an Influenster VoxBox? I’m not too sure if there is a wait to sign up right now (anyone know?), but if you are dying for an invite, let me know and I will shoot you over one (I think I get like 5 or something) or someone else who is a member would probably be happy too as well. There’s no guarantee if / when you will get a VoxBox, but it’s totally worth a shot!

Haha we got to use ours right when it came too for Cs after illness. It was a crazy timing and they are going through it so fast. I’m in love with this one too. We had just thrown away our ear one so I was using a regular one under their arm which really isn’t great. This was so fast we all had fun trying it out.
I bet we did the same exact things when we got it!!! Opened it up and took everyone’s temps. Ha!!!

I actually received the Jolly Vox Box today! It had a box of Skinny Cow Peanut Butter Creme Pouches (6 packs each with 3 pieces), a pack of Puffs plus lotion kleenex, NYC HD Color Trio Shadow, Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer, and some mini Duct Tape (washi like tape?) for crafts. It’s a fun little site!

Did you compare the temp of this thermometer vs another at the same time? Curious to see how accurate it is. I know our ear one doesn’t work as well as I’d like so I always do under the arm with my daughter (which isn’t easy!)

I only use an in ear and it was just about the same. I don’t believe I have ever used an underarm one.
