~If you missed any of my weekend posts, I’ll give you a quick recap. Thanksgiving was great. Black Friday consisted of two trips to Target (for wrapping paper) and a trip to the mall after dinner (i.e. when it wasn’t crowded) for a Bath & Body Works tote. And then we (B and I) got the flu. It was miserable. L was up-north (lucky him), but WB was home (poor guy). Happily (OMG you have no idea how happy I am about this) neither one got the flu.  I don’t even want to imagine what it would have been like had we ALL been sick.  Saturday was spent watching tv with WB and feeling sorry for ourselves. And yesterday was spent cramming everything we didn’t get done over the weekend into one day!

You will have a HUGE pile of Allure goodies headed towards your door (just as soon as I get them at my door). And congrats to Charity Smith! And if you didn’t win, don’t forgot to enter my “12 Days of Christmas Giveaways” which launched yesterday. Day 2 will be posted soon!

~Are you planning on doing any Cyber Monday shopping today?  I’m not too sure what all I am still on the hunt for, but if something amazing pops up, don’t think I won’t be all over that. I still need a few more things for L though, so hopefully I can pick up a few things for him.

This has no relation to what I just posted. I just like the picture ;)

~I am expecting the November Tyler Florence Fancy Box today, a delivery from the Bouqs tomorrow (I cannot wait for that) and my December Julep box, but other than those three I am not all sure what is coming this week.  I do have a few reviews to get posted though including some fun “adult” ones and The Homegrown Collective!

~So this Ef on the Shelf thing.  We do it (L loves it), but I am already totally sucking at it.  I had to get up at 2am last night to move the Elf from it’s old hiding spot.  My Elf is quite lame and doesn’t do many Pinterest things (he must not have internet access at the North Pole) like play in flour or fish in the toilet or any of that, but he did bring some pajamas for the boys today so that was nice of him.  We started our Advent book calendar last night and that was, once again, a huge hit with L (WB doesn’t seem overly impressed).

~I’m not sure why since it’s not like I knew him, but I am totally sad about Paul Walker.  I  randomly went on TMZ right after they posted it and couldn’t even believe it.  He just seemed like a good guy.  RIP.

~That’s about it from here this morning.  What’s going on for you this week?  And how was your holiday weekend?

Spread the love

We have an Elf too and mine is totally boring. He was on the mantel and today is in the tree. LOL he doesn’t move everyday since I’m lame but N declared last year and again this year that its just a toy and he just doesn’t understand how it moves. LOL however this morning he decided that maybe it could teleport since that is so much more realistic then beliving it could be a real elf. Not sure about that kid. We started Advent yesterday too. N has a Star Wars Lego calendar and C has a small box one from Stampin’ Up that I fill with candy. Fun for all.

That is fun for all!!! Our elf likes the mantle too. Anywhere up high really so WB doesn’t get to him (L thinks you cannot touch him and WB just doesn’t get that).

We lost our elf on the shelf when we moved into our new house and am patiently waiting for the new one to arrive from the North Pole (amazon). Thank goodness my kids are still little enough that I don’t have to fabricate a reason as to why our elf is arriving late this year. We began our advent calendar and our Study of Luke homeschooling notebook yesterday. The kiddos are just now grasping the concept of Christmas, Santa, Jesus. It’s making for a wonderfully magical holiday this year 🙂
I am also very sad about Paul Walker. When I was younger I played a dungeons and dragons type game with my friends but it was set in present day, much more modernized. We would pick actors to represent our characters in the game. paul walker was my in game boyfriend. I know that seems weird, but i’m very heartbroken 🙁

Ha!!! Good thing the North Pole has fast shipping! I don’t think my 5 year-old would realize it was late if we hadn’t started it yet.

It’s not weird! I think we all used to do that kind of thing!

I feel sad about Paul Walker, too. Way too much death and sadness in the news! 🙁 Thank goodness for the joy of the holidays to balance things out.

There does seem to be a lot of bad news recently.

Ok I know this is weird but check this out
Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell, 23, who has been dating the 40-year-old “Fast and the Furious” star for seven years, has turned to her mother, Julie, for solace during this difficult time, the Daily Mail reported.

Ok so she is 23 and has been dating him for 7 years???? Is that a typo??? She was 16 and he was 33!!!!!!

    1. Jennifer

I saw that somewhere? Her parents must have been cool with it though!

      1. Shannon

Yeah I don’t have an opinion about it either way. I am just really surprised the media didn’t have a field day with that. You know how terrible they can be in these situations. I’m glad they aren’t because I’m sure the family doesn’t need that right now.

The general consensus is that he’s just a fabulous guy, so maybe that has something to with it? Had it been like Charlie Sheen people would have been all over it!

I honestly thought it was an internet hoax when I first started reading about Pauls death.

And yeah, I guess she was 16 though I don’t know how are where he and his girlfriend met.

    1. Jennifer

I saw it on TMZ first and knew it was real.

  6. Suzanne

I want an Elf! My 15 year old declared that weird so I can have one. 🙁 Last year one of my friends had the Elf shave half her husbands head & he was sitting there with the clippers when her kids got up! I think she saw it somewhere else but I still can’t believe her husband went through with it!

    1. Jennifer

My cousin has an elf for her older kids. It hides money sometimes!!!!

      1. Suzanne S

I need an elf like that for me!!

I’m happy to know that my elf isn’t the only boring one. We forget about that thing every night. In fact, reading your blog just reminded me to get out of bed and move him. I’m sure my husband is tired of being woken up at 2 AM with me mouthing the word “elf!!” Haha.

My elf is so lame. I had to text my husband at 2am so he’s move him when he woke up!!
