Monday Morning Ramblings

~Since this is another holiday week I still feel like it’s not a “real” week. B’s gone still, but with him being on vacation and L not having school, it just doesn’t have the same significance you know? Back when I worked, I always quite enjoyed working the week between Christmas and New Years. For one, there was never any traffic. And then there was the fact that no one else was working (which is why there was no traffic), which made it nice and productive (except for those long lunches at Target) for me! So if you are working this week, I hope it’s the same for you!

~Has anyone else checked out the top Pinterest Pins of 2013? For some reason I find this kind of stuff totally fascinating. I love seeing what everyone else loves. And I know kind of feel like I need to make this Mini Fishing Set out of an Altoids Tin!

~I mentioned it yesterday, but it’s going to be a SLOW week subscription box wise. I am expecting bluum and umm, the Deluxe part of my December Citrus Lane box. And that’s seriously it! I really cannot even think of one other thing I am even expecting in the mail. And maybe Julep, but I don’t know about that? I think this is going to be the week I am able to get ALL caught up on box reviews. I am loving the thought of that for sure.

~I went to the Dollar Store (the Dollar Tree) to be exact for the first time in, umm, years over the weekend and wow, what a treasure of goodies that place is.  I spent like $6 and was just amazed. So.much.stuff.

He had a good time too.
He had a good time too.

~Depending on what time B gets home today, I may try and run to a Target or two tonight and check out some more clearance stuff. I have heard about some pajamas that include a book that are part of the clearance and I need to find those. Plus, I just like looking ;). I don’t want to drag WB again though so if I don’t make it, no big deal.

~I kind of slacked off at the end of the year on my “I’m Totally Trying It” posts, but I think I am going to bring them back for 2014. It kind of forces me to give things a fair chance to determine if I like them (one or two times just isn’t enough) which is good. If anyone is interested I’ll totally make it a link-up too!  I am hoping to get my first I’m Totally Trying It up on the 1st or 2nd.

~You still have like another day to think of this, but is anyone making any New Year’s Resolutions for 2014?  I’m not going to make anything too specific, but I have a few goals I’d like to make happen including FOR REAL running a 5K, getting more sleep and taking better care of me.  What about you?

That’s about it from here this morning.  What’s going on for you this week? Any big New Years plans?

Spread the love

So sad…the Target/Starbucks/Olive Garden trip that I had planned today looks like it’s going to fall through. I have to go get my TB test read today at 2:30. So smack dab in the middle of the day. Not going to be convenient trying to go early and make it back. And since I have no idea how long it’ll take at the doctor’s office, I’m thinking I won’t make it this afternoon either. *Sadness Face*

      Boo!!!!

I forgot about Julep. I did order this month so maybe it will come this week. I haven’t been to Dollar Tree in ages. There is one not too far maybe I need to check it back out soon. Still hoping to get to a Target today. Not moving too fast this morning so far so we’ll see how that goes. LOL

Just think, you will be on vacation soon!!

I want to run a 5K this year. There’s one in Dallas in January called the Hypnotic Donut Dash with donut hole stops along the way. My sister thinks the donut holes defeat the purpose of the 5K, and I said, ‘No, they cancel each other out!’ 🙂

LOL! They kind of do, but it still sounds fun!

I found the Top Pins of 2013 to be lacking. A few but not enough to say “oh wow”. I’d try to do my own top favorite pins but when you pin something like 10,000 pins in a year, trying to narrow down favorites is impossible.

I’m just going to have to deal with the fact that I will not be stepping foot into a Target for goodies. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll be able to make a quick run tomorrow after work to grab some much needed toilet paper…but by then I’m sure the good stuff will be gone so I’m not even going to look.

That’s a lot of pins!!! I am sometimes too lay to even pin stuff!

The good stuff is usually hidden, so maybe you will have some luck!

My New Year’s resolution is~ Whatever is good for the soul – do that!~

      Love this!

I refuse to call them “resolutions” because I usually don’t stick with them when I do … but I have a bunch of mini goals that I’d like to accomplish in the new year. I broke them down into things that will get done {hopefully} daily/monthly/over the year and have them posted in my “office space” {which is really just a small piece of counter space in the kitchen} so I am constantly reminded of them!

      That’s a great idea!!!

Would love to read/participate in I’m Totally Trying It! Haven’t seen the top pins yet, but going there now! I too loved this week when I was working full time. It was nice to be at work and not be stressed out of my mind!

It was a good week to work!

You should check out the clearance stuff at CVS too, it is all 75% off. Like Target, it is hit & miss depending on each store, but I have found some great stuff at a few different ones (seasonal items, gift sets, etc).

    1. Jennifer

      What’d you find??

  9. Nicole

Can’t reply in the thread…at CVS they have the little body wash/lotion/shower poof sets for $1.25, Sally Hansen Holiday Bling Collection (48 nails strips in 3 colors) for $2.50, Sally Hansen Ombre Nail Set for $2.50, Photo Snow Globe $1.99, Robes for $2.50-$5.

Also saw break away basketball hoops, mini-air compressors, camping lanterns for $3-$5. Lots of Peanuts/Snoopy ornaments and displays around the same price.

I wonder when they go to 90%?..

Okay do the mount Clemens 5k with me if we can’t make it we can stop on my front porch and cheer B on and it will be fine!

    1. Jennifer

It’s in April right? That gives me PLENTY of time! I think B is going to do the half again. As long as we finish before he finishes the half, we’d be good 😉

  11. Jennifer

Will u post a pic of pj’s if u find them please? BTW….love your Target posts!

    1. Jennifer

I will! I don’t know why I can’t find them! They are super cute. And have a book attached.
