I have been waiting for my November Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box to appear and was so excited when I got the shipping e-mail earlier in the week!  It’s probably my favorite of the Fancy Boxes and I love getting it.

If you aren’t familiar, the Fancy has a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies or celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Ashton Kutcher, Kelly Rowland, Coco Rocha, Tyler Florence or Pink (not sure if this is still an option since you cannot subscribe to it on their site anymore). They also offer a Fancy Food Box.

Fancy Box ships via FedEx and usually takes two days to arrive.  This one shipped on Wednesday and arrived yesterday (Friday), so it was right on track.

I peeked at spoilers on Instagram the other night (I know, I know, so bad), so I knew what to expect.  Fancy Box always ships in the same boxes no matter how small the items in the box may be.  On the same note, you will never receive anything bigger than a Fancy Box in your box.

The Information Cards

I don’t know that JLH actually picked this box this month (she just had a baby like last week didn’t she), but I’m going to pretend that she does.  The information cards didn’t have her picture on them like they used to or anything, but Fancy still does have great cards.   The only thing that could have made it better would be if it had prices.  Here is what the box received:

~Passport Mighty Wallet by Dynomighty ($15): Loot Crate just sent the Batman version of this last month.  It’s totally cute and fun, but I’m not sure what I will do with it?  Probably trade it?

~Paddywax ‘Rome’ Candle ($16): You can’t go wrong with a candle can you?  I think not.  Once the holidays wind down and I am all done with my holiday candles, I am going to have to swap them out with candles like this.  It smells really good.  Also, I realized that Paddywax has adorable little candle tins.  If I need more candles I would certainly get these.

~Travel Manager by Zero Per Zero ($25): At first I thought this was a subway map which I thought was dumb (wouldn’t I just use my phone?), but I quickly realized that it was a a travel wallet. It’s got room for money, passports, tickets, etc.  I may actually use this on our next trip as a dedicated travel wallet.  Passports, airport parking ticket, hotel keys, etc.  All that stuff gets lost fast in my big bag and it’s annoying having to dig for it.

~The New York Times 36 Hours: West Coast ($15):  This book includes the 36-hour best trips on the West Coast of Canada and the US.  It may be a little handier if I actually lived on the west coast and could easily skip away to one of these places for 36 hours.  But I love the concept of 36 hours in a city and I will flip through it for some ideas before passing this along to a friend.

All totaled I came up with a value of $70 for the November Jennifer Love Hewitt Fancy Box. I’m just kind of meh about it. I don’t hate it, but I certainly don’t love it like I have loved some of (most of) her previous boxes. I do love that she does “themes” though. This was obviously travel, last month was baking / milk & sweets, before that was booze, etc.

Did you get the November JLH Fancy Box?  What’d you think? If you are thinking of ordering this or ANY of the Fancy Boxes, click here and get on it! You can always use the coupon code “FOLLOWUP10″ to save 10% on any Fancy.com, order, including subscription boxes. I’m sorry to say it, but the amazing codes of 30% off + free shipping from Black Friday are gone ;(.  If you can’t find the Fancy Box you are looking for, I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site.

Hi Jennifer, I’m just curious. When you say you will trade items do you do that on some sort of swap list on a forum (like MUT)? I’m looking for a forum with trades that aren’t so makeup oriented.

    1. Jennifer

There is a Facebook groups that I trade on. Or I will trade with friends who get boxes too. I can send you an invite to the FB group if you want!

      1. Brenda

Could I get an invite to the fb group too please

        1. Jennifer

          Just sent.

  2. Bethany

I like this one! Love the travel theme. The full version of that 36 hours book is on my wishlist! As well as a JLH Fancy Box subscription. 🙂

    1. Jennifer

I wonder if they have a book like this for the Midwest??

The only thing I loved was the candle. I noticed on the tin that they were made in Nashville so I sent my box back for a return and headed to the store this morning and picked them up for $16 each 🙂

    1. Jennifer

Explain to me how the return works. I’m so unclear about it. They say you can only return one item, but then the box has a return label. I don’t get it! Report back!

      1. Lauren A.

I contacted Fancy, and they said that they dont accept full returns for the Fancy Boxes, but if there is one or two items that you dont like you can return those. So it seems that you can send maybe half of the items back for some type of credit…. I’ve contacted their customer service before though and they said they didnt accept any returns so I am not sure!

          It’s very confusing!!

This was my first box from fancy I have to admit I was not thrilled with it. I liked the past boxes that’s why I took a chance with it.

    1. Jennifer

This just didn’t seem like “her” you know?

      1. Jessica

Yes! I plan on doing one more box but if it’s a disappointment I am going to cancel.

        1. Jennifer

So odd. I’d e-mail them and see why you got an old box!

  5. Merissa

I just got my first JLH Fancy box with the 30% off Black Friday coupon, but mine was completely different than yours! I got a turquoise bracelet, sunglasses, huge pink headphones, and a terrible black beanie that says “Cake” on it. Lol! Can I return the beanie? So bad!

      1. Amy S.

I got the May’s box too! I thought I got the December one early! I actually love the items & kinda want to keep the May one but I’m going to let them know.

        1. Jennifer

          That is so weird!

        2. Lauren A.

I got this too! I ordered mine black friday also! I am not happy about it…

        3. Kindra

I ordered mine on Black Friday too, and I also got the May box! I honestly couldn’t be happier though. When I saw the December box I was so disappointed and regretted ordering it, but was soooooo happy to see I got the May box 🙂 I am curious if anyone ever explained the return thing though…..?

          1. Jennifer

            I haven’t heard anything!

        4. Jen

Ugh, I got the May box too! I’m so unhappy. Of all the boxes I could’ve gotten, that would be my last choice. I ordered the Coco Rocha box too, so I’m wondering if that will be an old box too. I want to return it, but I’m not sure how.

          1. Jennifer

Ohh, report back on the Coco Rocha one! I haven’r heard anyone say anything about that yet!

    1. Jen

I contacted Fancy, and they said that they will be sending me the November JLH Fancy box, and assured me that the Coco box would be the new one. Hopefully, that happens. They seem very willing to work with their customers.

      1. Jennifer

I wonder why they sent May to begin with??

        1. Lisa

I also got that May JLH even though I’ve been subscribing for some time. I did use the Black Friday coupon code so that might be why. I’ve got pics up on my blog. The only difference between this box and the original are some of the color choices.

          1. Jennifer

Interesting!!! I wonder what their reasoning was!

  6. Terri

Totally did not like this box save for the candle. I’m giving the wallet to my 3 year old cause there is no adult I know who would use that and as mom of 5 I’m not really taking too many trips abroad to use that Tokyo wallet so that was a dud. Gifting the book cause I live in the NE. Had to cancel this sub, I don’t give a box the opportunity to fail this epically 2x.

    1. Jennifer

It seemed so off this month!!!

  7. Judy

I cancelled for a few months due to the holiday season. Glad I did. Love the candle though!

    1. Jennifer

I could have lived without this one I think.

  8. Kelly M.

I tried so hard to like this, I just don’t. I love the idea of the book until I realized I live in ohio and it doesn’t pertain to me at all, the travel document wallet is genius but I got the one with the black background and it’s so darn ugly. I will probably still use it because it will calm my traveling OCD. The tyvek wallet… Maybe it will be nice in my beachbag for our cruise this month bc it doesn’t scream wallet and just looks like a folded up map? I hope next month is more fun.

    1. Jennifer

What city was your document wallet? And I agree, the wallet does look like a map!

I think the 36 hour travel book would be a great Christmas present for several of my relatives! Did not get the box but off to order the books.
