I was so excited about last weeks Plated menu that I ordered three meals instead of my normal two meals. I just couldn’t decide and decided I needed all three!

First Look

I’m not sure if have mentioned it, but Plated has been including a little box of cookies or other dessert item in their boxes every once in a while.  In one box we even got a fun little set of pumpkin scooping tools.

Second First Look

My Plated boxes have been coming on Wednesdays now instead of on Tuesdays.  I think it’s because of the expanded delivery areas they offer now.  They used to ship from New York and the boxes would arrive on Tuesday, but they now have a midwest distribution center and so my boxes are on a different schedule now.  It’s kind of confusing because when I order it says they are coming on Tuesday, but umm, they don’t.

~Chicken and Vegetable Pot Pie: I LOVE pot pie.  It’s probably one of my favorite meals out there so I was totally into this one.  I have to tell the folks at Plated though, while this was totally delicious, it was not as good as my moms.  I think it’s because my mom puts potatoes and real butter and all that deliciousness in hers.  Still, this was very good and I’d eat it again.  Minus the mushrooms.

~Caramelized Onion Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Soup:  This grilled cheese was everything I’d hoped it would be.  And more. The soup?  Meh.  I didn’t totally hate it, but I wouldn’t have it again either.  It was spicy, which was okay, but the hunks of tomato just weren’t for me.

~Pimiento Cheeseburger Sliders with Parsnip Fries:  The final meal, which we actually had for lunch yesterday, was sliders.  The fries ended up burned (oops), but the sliders were delicious!  I so want B to make these again.  Tons of flavor in them and these are something I would never ever order at a restaurant.  I’d be too scared.  But I’d get them if I saw some version of them on a menu now!

Did you get Plated last week?  What’d you think?  If you order before noon today, your Plated will either come on Tuesday (aka tomorrow) or Wednesday depending on your location. I opted for the Sweet Potato Ravioli and the Salmon Burgers, however, I am also eyeing that White Bean Chicken Chili and may just have to get three meals again this week!

If you are interested in giving it a try or want to learn more, click here to try two free plates (new customers only).  Basically you’ll get 4 plates for the price of 2 ($30)!!  That’s 4 meals/plates for $30, which is less than $8/plate.
