My third Stitch Fix arrived yesterday and, as usual, I was anxious to see what came in this month’s Fix. I have it set up where I get monthly “Fixes” now so I never have to worry about missing one!
If you aren’t familiar, Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. You provide your style, size, and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces. If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. And if you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything! Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix. You have a few days to try everything on and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.
Stitch Fix ships via FedEx. It took six days to arrive to me in MI from their location on San Francisco. I do think the nasty weather this week delayed the shipment a bit.
The first look? Meh. I had peeked on my account and knew the names of what they were sending and frankly nothing sounded overly fabulous. But I wanted to give it a fair chance, so I tried not to judge it too much!
Stitch Fix sends an “invoice” of sorts which includes a listing of everything you received in your box, the total for all the items and then goes on to list what all the items would cost after your $20 credit for your Styling Fee plus your 25% discount would be. Had I kept everything in my “Fix”, it would have been $180. That doesn’t include the $30 in referral credits I had, which would have made it $150. Here is what I received:
~Mystree Shellie Crochet – Shoulder Striper Shirt ($28): I am not overly sure on this one. It would be cute for the summer, but it’s not summer here so that’s an issue. Still it’s cute and had it come in any color besides this off-white, I would have kept it no questions. Kept or Returned? On the Fence.
~Just A Cheap Shirt Eastwick Plaid Cotton Button Up Shirt ($28): I think this shirt is adorable, but it’s not my style at all. Some people could totally rock this, but I am not one of them. Kept or Returned. Returned.
~LA MADE Benway Split Back Sweater ($78): I love the back detail on this one (I think the little split back at the bottom is cute), however, I am not a fan of the color / pattern on this one. Kept or Returned. Returned.
~Mystree Straights Top-Button Striped Knit Cardigan ($28): At first I thought there is no way I am keeping that sweater. But now I know I am! It’s not too expensive and will be the perfect thing to throw on around the house when I get cold. Kept or Returned. Kept.
~Margaret Straight Leg Jean ($98): I liked the style of these jeans, but that was about it. The color is a little darker than it’s showing in the picture, but it’s still too much for me. Kept or Returned. Returned.
All in all, this Fix was kind of a miss for me. I am keeping at least one item so I won’t lose my styling fee, but unlike last month when I kept everything, I won’t be getting that 25% discount for keeping everything. I am going to work on my Pinterest board a bit more this month and will give it a go again in February!

As soon as I made a pinterest board my fixes improved 1000%. And I don’t just pin random outfits I pin certain pieces I want. Like three or four open back sweater and some pastel skinny jeans. Specific stuff. Then when she sends me that thing I delete the pin.
I had a board this month and I swear it got worse!!! I need to step it up! I have been pinning away but maybe I need to be leaving comments on my pins or something?
Yeah, I was more excited about your box last month, though I like the sweaters. I do love that they provide styling cards. My fear is that if/when I subscribe I’ll talk myself into keeping more things than I want because I already have them. So wait, what’s this about your Pinterest board–do the stylists review your board or something??
Yep! If you make a Pinterest board of your style they review it to help them make choices. I try to pin things from other people’s Fixes!
I am hearing the Stitch Fix concept for the first time but it looks a very nice idea. Thanks for sharing the link Jennifer.
Not a problem!!
I also found that in the comment section of my profile I could write things along the lines of “I live in New Jersey and it’s winter, please no short sleeve tops”. That seemed to fix the issue for me.
That’s a good idea!!
I received the striped Mystree shirt in my September fix. I only kept it for the 25% off…now I love it.
Do you wear something under it???
Have to wear a cami underneath. It is pretty sheer…but super comfy!
My box last month was blah boring mom clothes from the 90’s even though I specifically put fun bohemian style clothes on my profile. My first box rocked so I almost cried when not only I was assigned a new stylist but her choices were far from anything I wanted. This month is their last chance to win me back.
You can request your stylist right? I had the same last month and this month, but the picks were so different!
I signed up using your link but with the huge surge in new business I couldn’t schedule until April 17th. So excited – and I’m definitely going to take everyone up on the pinboard idea now.
Oh my gosh! That is forever! I hope you get an amazing fix!!!
I’ve been watching it daily and was able to snag an opening for February 11th!
OMG that’s awesome!!!
I just got my first Fix yesterday and really loved it! I only kept one thing — a bright blue dress — but I actually loved most of the clothing, though some was a little more expensive than I was comfortable spending. All the same, it was fun! I really like the sweater you kept, and that first top is very cute!
Are you doing to do it again?
Definitely! I just scheduled my next one for mid-February. I’ll see how that goes before I schedule the one after that, but I’m interested to see what the next box will hold. I also tweaked my preferences and such, so I’m hoping it will be even better than the first.
I am already anxious to see what I get!
My last fix was all wrong, and I mean wrong in the sense that nothing that was on the card was in the box !! I emailed them and they said they would refund my fee and send a new box. I haven’t gotten the refund yet but I did get the new box. I liked some of it but most of it was a miss and too expensive. On top on that they again sent an item that was not on the sheet. This time instead of a long skirt they sent a blue blazer that was not on the list. Honestly I probably would have kept the skirt if they had sent it.
Are you going to give then another go?
The same thing happened to me today! I raced home from work so excited to see what they sent, and nothing in the box match my card/invoice, and it is all the wrong size. I an waiting to get an email reply and hopefully they will send a new box soon. I am so disappointed! How did you contact them to get a new box?
This same thing happened to me today. Everything was different and in the wrong size. I’m really disappointed.
I just got my first ever Stitch Fix box a couple weeks ago. I was SOOO excited for it but sadly was a little disappointed. There were only 2 things I liked and one was a little big, just didn’t love it for $68. I did love love the chevron cardi sweater I got though. I had pinned the EXACT same one to my Pinterest and my stylist somehow found it. That was amazing to me!! I am on monthly now, hoping it will get better. I also lowered my prices to see if that would help.
I am getting my next Fix this week and I am so curious to see what it would have! I need to go hunting for this chevron cardigan because that sounds perfect!
How do you add a Pinterest board to your profile? Do you just give your user name so they can find you?
I pasted a link to it in the notes section I believe? I have a board called Stitch Fix!
Thanks for the info! Seeing your reviews/comments helped me decide to join it – hopefully you’ll get some credit soon!
Thanks!
Where did you go to see what they sent you? I got my email saying my Fix was sent but I don’t know how to look at what pieces they sent me.
Go to your account and click the “Checkout” button! You don’t have to checkout, but it will show you the items.
