My February 2014 Birchbox is still in-transit, but Birchbox ended up sending me one for review as well, which happened to arrive yesterday! I thought I’d review both of them this month just to give you an idea of the variations that boxes can have.
Birchbox ships via UPS Mail Innovations and usually takes under a week to arrive to me. I wasn’t sure what was in this box (since it wasn’t mine I couldn’t peek at the contents online), but I had a good impression of it from the box itself!
The inner box was the same regular Birchbox box. If you save your Birchbox boxes, what do you do with them? I’d love to hear / see some ideas!
This is so lame of me, but I love when Birchbox uses those pillow box envelopes. It’s like you are getting a surprise box with another surprise box in it! This February 2014 Birchbox was Box #9 (*). To find out what box # you got, go into your account and click on “Box” and then “Women’s Box”. Scroll down to the “Box History” section and then click on “February 2014″. The last number in your URL is your box number (mine says “bb9″ – meaning I have Box #9). I explained how to review products for points a few months ago, so if you missed that, check it out here.
The February 2014 Birchbox theme was “Step and Repeat” and a partnership between Birchbox and the Beauty Editors of US Weekly to share some of the expert’s red car[et secrets. Here is what was included in this one:
~Beauty Protector Protect & Oil (~$2): I really like this hair oil, but I do not like the container it’s in. I think the full size comes in a spray (?), but this is just a jar of oil which is messy for someone like me. LOL! But again, the oil itself is great. It smells good and kept those fly aways in place.
~Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner ($11.25): Wow, this stuff is like magic. I really did think it made my skin look smoother and my pores less noticeable. I will for sure be picking up the Camera Ready Kit with the full size of this in the shop. For sure!
~Juicy Couture Couture La La Malibu ($1.44): I usually do like Juicy perfumes and this one was no exception. I really like it and cannot stop smelling my wrists. I also love that I finally love a scent that is not $100+ per bottle!
~Ruby Wing Color Changing Nail Polish (Kitten Heels) ($4.67): Well you know I love this. This polish is pink inside and turns into a red outside. SO cool! And seriously it works. I have bought a Ruby Wing polish in the past (maybe even this color I will have to look) and it totally changes.
~32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Crystals with IsoVoxy ($1.33): I’ve never seen these before and I never thought that I would think that breath mints were fun, but these are. I will probably grab more just for the fun aspect.
All totaled my 2014 February Birchbox had a value of $20.69. Including the points I’d get for reviewing the products, assuming I bought the box that is, (which is equal to $5) the box had a real total value of $23.07. Not a crazy “valuable” Birchbox by any means, but I really enjoyed these items and think maybe I will need to tweak my profile since this wasn’t “my” box, but was a great fit for me anyway!
Do you subscribe to Birchbox? Did you get your box yet this month? What number was it and what was in it? If you don’t subscribe (it’s only $10/month) and are interested in learning more, click here. Last I heard the wait list was only taking a few days (I’d love if someone could verify this though) so it might be a great time to join!
