February 2014 Escape Monthly

I was surprised that today was another great mail day around here! I kind of lost track of what was coming this week (I’m all out of sorts), so I was surprised when my February 2014 Escape Monthly appeared!

If you aren’t familiar with them, Escape Monthly, which is $49.95/month is a monthly vacation in a box. Each month you will discover products from a different location. Products consist off local and destination-inspired foods, relaxation and beauty essentials, and the highest quality products that bring the life of the destination right to you.

The Box

Escape Monthly ships via USPS Priority Mail and arrived quite quickly.  In fact, I didn’t even have time to wonder where it was this month before it arrived!

First Look

I’d been super excited about this month and was even more excited to crack into this box because I hadn’t seen any spoilers for it yet!  I think Escape Monthly has some of the cutest packaging out there and the aqua chevron makes me smile every time I see it.

The Information Card

The February 2014 Escape Monthly destination was New York and includes a unique collection of local artisan goods from all over the state, as well as, an exclusive travel deal for a private lake in the Adirondacks.  Here is what was inside:

~Moon New York City Metro ($14.99): I am almost ashamed to admit that I have only been to NYC once and that was only for a night.  I do have some friends in NYC and my cousin lives there, but I suspect that this will come in handy as well when we eventually do make it there for a visit.

~Brooklyn Studio Tin Travel Candle ($6): I absolutely love the smell of this one and think some of their other scents sound fabulous as well.

~Flint Creek Good Skin Blend Soap ($3): This smells fabulous as well!  B uses all the bar soap that we get and I know that this will be the next one he grabs from his bin of stuff I have for him.

~Kanpekies Peckigram Cookies ($8):  I usually don’t like fruit in my cookies (I got the Cherry Chocolate flavor), but these are amazing. Seriously.  I would send these cookie grams as gifts for sure.

~The Peanut Principle Gourmet Maple Peanut Butter ($4.37):  This will be off to work with B next week!  For some reason, he’s all about eating PB&J’s lately and eats them with all the fancy peanut butter we receive.  This is made in Albany and is a farmer’s market favorite up there.

~Sundaes Best Hot Fudge Sauce ($6.50): I so badly wish that I had some vanilla ice-cream so that the boys and I could test this out today!  I will make it a priority to get some next time I am at the store!

~Better Brittle West African Style Peanut Brittle ($5): This peanut brittle is made by hand in three pound batches in up-state New York.  I am not a huge peanut brittle fan, so I will probably send this off to work with B.

~New York Taxi Treats Cookies ($2.99):  Love these.  Totally something I would grab if we were in NYC and I loved seeing them in here.  The boys loved them as well!

~I Love New York Sticker ($1.49): Just a little I Love NYC Sticker.  I will probably use it in my planner when I actually do end up planning a trip there!

All totaled I came up with a value of $52.34 for the February 2014 Escape Monthly New York box.  It was just slightly over the $49.95 monthly cost of the box, but there are always coupons for this one and I know a ton of people took advantage of the now expired 50% off offer from last month!  Next month’s destination is Ireland which I may not be able to resist!!
