The last box in my four month PijonBox subscription arrived yesterday. I subscribed last fall during an insane promotion they had on Living Social and have been quite enjoying these.
If you aren’t familiar, PijonBox is a monthly subscription box geared towards college students. Each PijonBox includes 5-6 products selected just for college students (subscriptions are customized by male and female – I got the female) and contain a value of $30-$50 per box.
PijonBox ships via FedEx Smart Post and took the standard week for it to arrive. Because of college breaks, they did not offer a December box and do not offer boxes in the summer.
I have no idea what happened to my first look picture, but I don’t have it! I had seen a few reviews of this box, so I had a basic idea of what to expect. The February 2014 PijonBox theme was “Rise and Shine” and included items to get you out the door on the right foot in the morning. Here is what was inside:
~Toothbrush by Brush with Bamboo ($5): Not overly exciting, but someone could always use a fresh toothbrush around here. And I am almost certain college kids aren’t swapping them out on a regular basis, so this is a great addition.
~Oat Works Oatmeal Beverage ($2.33): I received this in a box last month and really liked it so I was glad to see another. They are much better than you’d think. Well, at least they are better than I expected.
~Reviver Clothing Refresher Wipes ($3): B got one of these last month and I was jealous, so I was happy to get my own. It really does take the icky smells away from your clothes.
~Go! Towel Mini ($1.20): You add a little bit of water to these are boom, it’s a washcloth. I am throwing these in my bag right now. I think they will be awesome for cleaning up spills.
~Rooted Beauty Lip Butter ($4.99): I couldn’t get this opened fast enough to try it out. It’s some of the most unique packaging I have ever seem for a lil balm. It’s in a biodegradable paper tube and instead of turning a dial to get more, you push it up from the bottom. Totally cool!
~Color Club Nail Polish (Love Links and Nature’s Way) ($16): Well I am never sad more about polish, so this was a complete win for me. At this point I know there is no way I will use all this polish I have in this lifetime, but I still love it all.
~popbar Hot Chocolate on a Stick ($2.99): This isn’t my all time favorite hot chocolate, but it is for sure the most fun and unique one I have tried. It’s freezing out here today (what’s new), so I am thinking that snuggling up with a blanket, this and a some ice skating tonight is sounding pretty good!
All totaled I came up with a value of $35.51 for the February 2014 PijonBox for her. Boxes starts at $25/month, but the deal I bought through Living Social was $49 (or $12.25/month), so I most certainly got my money’s worth and was really happy with this subscription. I’ll probably try out a new box for a while instead of renewing, but I was quite pleased with this for the price!
What do you think of PijonBox? Did you get a box this month? If you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn a little more, click here. And if I hear of another great deal on this one, I will let you know!
I though color club was a birchbox exclusive item? I must have been mistaken! Lol love the colors, though! I wish I could subscribe to all of the subscription boxes! I have subscribed to popsugar and my fiance subscribed to loot crate. But there are so many more fun ones!
For some reason I thought that too. Maybe it’s only certain colors that are BB exclusives?
Same comments I posted on another blog…
I?m not super thrilled with what we got?I just signed up for another couple of months too, now I?m asking myself why.
I see from the card that the theme is ?Rise and shine??.so, where?s the caffeine? or maybe a nice face product to help us look well rested? How about a cute face mask or earplugs to help us sleep (trust me, you need those when your neighbors are partying at 3AM.) Idk, I guess as a college student, this seems more like a box for a family member to feel good giving, than really being geared towards what a student needs. & anotherr lip balm? lol I didn?t use the last ones.
So far, I LOVED the caffeinated chocolate, the Rooted beauty wipes (for that reason, I?ll give this balm a try) and the campfire sporks, although I don?t have a need for them, lol. Maybe I?ll pack them with my lunch.
I double checked to see if there was anything else I did like?
the vitamins were good, but WOW they?re expensive! I already use gummy vitamins that are half the price!
I liked the B12 lollipops, didn?t really notice a huge difference but hey.
The waxelene was cool, that?s my second vial I?ve received.
And I probably would have liked the socks, but I thought the ones I got were SO ugly. (I’ve seen cuter ones in reviews and other boxes that sent them out)
The Bagu bag was cute, but that style doesn?t work as well for me as other reusable bags I already have, I?ll probably gift it.
And anything else that didn?t get mentioned, it?s because I didn?t use it.
This box in particular?deodorant remover wipes? a go towel?? and a Toothbrush?! do you really think I don?t already have a toothbrush? Those last two items seem more like things you take on a wilderness trip, which I personally stay away from.
I would agree that caffeine is an essential part of every morning. LOL!!!!! I did love that chocolate too. And I tend to stay away from wilderness trips myself ;).
I love Oatworks! So yummy!
Quite good!
This was my first month of PijonBox through the same LivingSocial deal (I finally got around to redeeming it). I was a little surprised to see nail polish in it— but everything else made and I actually liked getting unusual yet practical things like the refresher wipes and the washcloths to go (genius on the latter for Moms!).
It is a good mom item!
