February 2014 Birchbox Man Review
February 2014 Birchbox Man Review

I was not expecting this, but B’s March 2014 Birchbox Man was in the mailbox this afternoon!  I for sure thought it wouldn’t be here until next week so I hadn’t even bothered tracking it yet.

If you aren’t familiar, Birchbox Man is $20/month and sends you or the man in your life a box with beauty, grooming, and lifestyle samples from both up-and-coming and well known brands. Each delivery will include a mix of categories, as well as lifestyle items.

The Box

Birchbox ships via USPS and took only 3 days to arrive this month!  Seriously, that was fast.  I don’t know that I have ever gotten my Birchbox that quickly, but I loved it and hope the trend continues.

The Real Box

This month’s box wasn’t a collaboration or anything like that, so it was just the normal Birchbox box.  And, as always, I was jealous of B’s box because I SO wish that my Birchbox had a fun lifestyle item.

FIrst Look

B received Box #3(*) this month, which again happened to be one of the boxes that was the best fits for us.  I peeked at the other boxes and was really happy with the one B received.

The Information Card

The February 2014 Birchbox Man theme was “Mix & Match” and shared that the best combinations are usually the most unexpected, so don’t be afraid to swap, switch, mix and mash-up!  Here is what B received in his box:

~English Laundry Signature (~$3):  This is described as a “citrusy fragrance” which I found to be a fairly good description.  It wasn’t too much, but it was for sure enough.  I also liked the price point on this one ($84/bottle) as opposed to some of the others we have gotten recently.

~Luster NOW! Toothpaste + Distinctly White Set (~$3): B is going to be really happy about this.  He’s all about whitening toothpastes and I wouldn’t be surprised if he insisters on picking up the set so he can really test this out.

~MiN New York Solution2 Post-Shave Rollerball Treatment ($1): I don’t know that B really uses a post-shave treatment, but I know that he will use up this sample.

~MeUndies T-Shirt ($25): Totally perfect.  B loves MeUndies and actually has some of their t-shirts (and undies) and loves them.  The other lifestyle items this month were a tie, a bottle opener (we have gotten that one in the past), socks and I think that was it?  Had I gotten to pick between any of the items, I for sure would have went for the t-shirt.  Actually I would have gone for the v-neck, but you can’t have it all ;).

MeUndies T-Shirt

All totaled, B’s December Birchbox Man had a value of about $32, (NOT including points for doing reviews and purchasing the box itself (**)) – which would bring the value up to $36!  Birchbox Man is $20/month and we certainly would have purchased another MeUndies t-shirt, so the rest were just bonus items!

(*) If you want to see all the boxes this month, click here and change the 1 at the end to anything from a 2 to 34 since there were 34 (up from last month’s 20 variations) box variations this month. If you can’t figure out which box number you got, login into Birchbox and then Click “Box” and select Men’s or Women’s. Scroll down a bit to were it says “Box History” and click the month of the box (in this case March 2014). The number at the end of the URL is your box number. B’s box ended in “march-2014-bb3″ which means he got box #3.
