~To say that this weekend was uneventful would be an understatement. We did nothing. Starbucks, Panera and that was seriously about it. I don’t think the kids really cared though and I actually didn’t either.  My laundry is all done and put away, so I consider it a successful weekend.

Weekend
Weekend

~I think I have got some Games fans in the house with me.  L gets up and tries to recreate the ice-skating moves (I think every kid does this) and B?  He actually wants to TALK about ice-skating while we are watching it.  For real.  That Russian teenage figure skater?  Bananas.  She is amazing.  I was dizzy watching her spin.  B and I flat out watched with our mouths open.

She is a star!
She is a star!

~I’m expecting lots of subscription boxes this week including PopSugar (mine always takes forever), PijonBox, Fabletics, Stork Stack, MyIrelandBox, MeowBox (my brother’s cat’s are going to be thrilled) and hopefully my Julep Cupid’s Mystery Box will get here. I’ve got Plated coming this week as well, which I will do a review as well since they have a lot of new things going on (for example you can select Tuesday or Friday delivery now in my area).

~B is off today so we are off to the casino this morning for a “date”.  Date options (other than breakfast) on a Monday morning are limited.  It’s a shame movies don’t start at 9am ;).  We’ll have to make do with some SATC slot machines.

~As always, I had HUGE plans to get L’s Valentine’s all ready for his party on Friday.  Did that happen?  Umm, no.  I *think* I have everything I need for the kids, I just need to put the bags together.  But I also do need to get L to sign of the actual valentine’s, so there is that.  And, umm, should I admit that I didn’t even decorate for Valentine’s Day this year?  No idea what happened.  I just never got to it.  Oh well, there is always St. Patrick’s Day!

~If you missed my post about it on Saturday, let me tell you about Lemon Oreo Cookies.  Most delicious Oreo’s ever.  I found the Cookie Dough ones, but I didn’t love them like I loved the lemon ones. And someone mentioned that Pepperidge Farm is now making a Lemon Chocolate Milano Cookie.  Ahhh, stop it.  Those too sound fabulous!

The Cookies!
The Cookies!

~Does anyone take any classes?  Like pottery, sewing, cake decorating, photography, etc.?  I’m thinking about taking something this summer (i.e. when B is not in school), but don’t know what.  I had so much fun at Painting with Twist that maybe an art class would be cool?  Nothing serious.  Just for fun!

That’s it for now, but what’s up for your Monday?  Did you pick up a gift for your Valentine yet?  What’d you get??

  2. Christine

I subscribed to the Fantasy Box for Valentine’s Day for my husband and I. I am so excited to get it and I found it thanks to your blog. 🙂 (which I love by the way!!)

    1. Jennifer

Ohhh you’ll love it!! And thank you!!!

How funny, last night my husband and I went to the casino (they had first-timers get a $30 credit on the house) with my sister and her boyfriend. Since it was our first time we felt a little too excited just playing the slots.
Best part of the night was walking out $40 each. Lol Thinking about going again but I feel that thats how they get ya. Lol

    1. Jennifer

That is how they get you!! You win a few times and you think if you keep going you’ll be a millionaire!

My sister and I took a Chinese cooking class last fall! it was so random and a lot of fun! It was only 3 classes (3 Thursdays from 6-9:30 in a row). The class had like 12 people in it and we got into 4 groups of 3 (my sister and I always stuck to the same group)… and each group made a dish – and the instructor, right from China, helped us cook it and we basically did all the prep. By 8:30 all the food was cooked… and I’d be starving – then we all sat down and had a giant feast! There was enough food for everyone to take home left overs too!
I think I’d do that again, but try greek or something different!
I also go to spin class mon and wednesday, boot camp tuesday and thursday, and abs class friday… this is so routine for me that I don’t even think of it as a hobby or a class just part of my everyday routine to work out for 45 minutes… but I HAVE to do it in a group… otherwise I can’t motivate or push myself to last 45 minutes. I also have made good friends in the classes… it’s the main reason I watch DWTS and the bachelor is that all the other woman in my work out classes do.
In the summer time I also play on 1 softball team… when I was pregnant I couldn’t play and that drove me crazy. I am worried this year I won’t be on a team (not because I’m pregnant) but because I’m not the BEST and I could easily be replaced by a better player.

    1. Jennifer

That sounds like a cool class!!! I really need to sign up for some group classes too!

  5. Kelly

I love the lemon oreos too. Im a little scared to try the cookie dough ones lol. I just got my lemon Girl Scout cookies so im good for a bit.

I use to take painting classes… but I am going to a cake decorating “party” this weekend. I am excited! I am excited to learn some different techniques.

I am doing a Despicable Me theme for my son’s V-day gift… They had part 2 for $10 last week at Target so I got him that and there have one of the pop figures that just came out of a minion so going to pick that up too. 🙂

    1. Jennifer

Cute!!! Report back on the party! That sounds fun.

I think I ordered Girl Scout cookies? I should check on that!

  6. Mary

I started taking a pottery class. It’s where we use the wheel. It’s sometimes nice to be able to say I made that! Even if it ends up not looking very good.

    1. Jennifer

There is something about doing it yourself.

  7. victoria

I live in AZ, but my Target sells Lemon Twist Oreo Cookies. Which are actually different than just lemon. The lemon twist is apparently a limited edition Oreo. I wonder what the difference is.

    1. Jennifer

Lemon twist??? I must google these at once!

  8. mary m

I want to try the lemon oreos, but I think it would be a bad thing for me LOL

I’ve taken a quilting class, and a pottery class. Our local community college offers non-credit courses in the evenings or on weekends for fairly cheap!

    1. Jennifer

      You must try them!!

  9. Laura

Found the cookies at Walmart. I bought 6 lemon Oreo packages most delicious things ever!! They have marshmallow crispy ones was afraid to try it and I didn’t like the cookie dough

    1. Jennifer

So amazing. My husband put them in my sons lunch today and I was like no give him the cookie dough ones. The lemon are mine!

  10. Ally

My PopSugar box always takes forever too. I am in IL so I don’t know why us in the Midwest always get our boxes later than everyone else 🙁 I try not to look at the spoilers and other people’s boxes but I can’t help it when it takes an extra week for our boxes to come in.

    1. Jennifer

Soooo slow. I swear it takes 3 days to move an hour between FedEx and the post office.

    2. Elizabeth

I live in Arizona (only four hours from where it ships!) and it always takes at least a week to get to me. I could walk there faster. And there’s no bad weather between here and there! Mine is due to come Wednesday, which is even longer than usual.

      1. Jennifer

        They take so long!

  11. Kelley Quigley

I haven’t bought a Valentine’s gift yet, not even sure what I’m going to get. Today’s going to be pretty eventful for us (i.e. busy) – I have to work, homeschool, my oldest has a doctor’s appointment, and the girls have dance. Makes me tired just thinking about it!! I’m hoping to get my Birchbox this week – not sure how long it will take though. I also have Sample Society and Ipsy coming, but these will be my first boxes from them so I have no idea how long those will take.

    1. Jennifer

Did you peek at your boxes yet? I an pretty excited about birchbox and ipsy this month!

      1. Kelley Quigley

I didn’t!! It is hard not to, but I really like to be surprised!!

  12. Tiffany

I bought the cookie dough oreos! specifically because i saw them on your blog 😉 My grocery store had them buy 2 packs for $6 and a gallon of milk and get $2 off so i got suckered in!! my grocery store didnt have the lemon but they had marshmellow crispy ones like a rice krisy bar.. but i was afraid to try 2 new ones and then they both be gross!.. have you seen those ones yet?

    1. Jennifer

      I haven’t seen them yet!

    2. carol

Oh I want the crispy bar one. That sounds so good.

  13. carol

Your office is so much cleaner then mine at the moment lol. When we did the floors everything got moved and then my back broke so nothing got moved back. I have two offices one for work one for play and they are both a disaster area. I took/take some classes. One is jewelry making and its a lot of fun. I also took photography, photo shop, and gardening. For work purposes I took, professional organizer, substance abuse, and pysch. I’m a jack of all trades. funny thing is I don’t work!!

    1. Jennifer

lol! But you keep busy and that’s good. Do you like jewelry making?

  14. Adrienne

I recommend beading classes (the kind you sew not just put on a string). It’s fun and easy to make amazing jewelry for yourself and your friends. One coworker taught several people last year and now we’re all hooked. Any local bead shop should offer beginner classes and have examples of what you can make.

    1. Jennifer

      I will look into it!

  15. Shelly

Is that the Doodle Magic mat thingy in one of your pictures.. I got my daughter that for Christmas and I think we got some markers that were duds, the color hardly shows up on the mat at all but looks pretty good in your pic ..

    1. Jennifer

Oh our markers SUCKED. I just let them take regular markers to it!

  16. Sophia

I just started taking metalsmithing class for fun! It’s pretty cool by the end of the class we’ll have made a bunch of rings/pendants, know how to “bezel” and make candle sticks!

I’m only 4 classes in, but I’ve learned to saw, press, and do other things to metal. Lol – its pretty cool because just from that I’ve figured how to make my own monogram pendants!

Why couldn’t college classes be as fun as these art classes?

    1. Jennifer

I know right? I did take step aerobics once in college though. My friend took sailing. So random!

  17. Beth

Do you still get the Love With Food box? Mine came today. Lots of chocolate in honor of Vday! My little guy is going to enjoy the olive packs, and Beanitos in his lunches.

    1. Jennifer

I do! I just got a shipping notification last night. I am guessing it will be later this week!

  18. Ashley C.

I’m a little hesitant about the lemon oreos — but I just might have to pick up a pack and try them! I’m still hooked on their raspberry and coconut oreo creams!

    1. Jennifer

You must try them! Well, if you like lemon cookies.

  19. Bethany

That little Russian is amazing!!! So fast and completely mesmerizing. Has your Jan Tyler Florence come yet??? I’ve been looking for the review!! (No rush or anything…)

    1. Jennifer

      Nope, no sign of it!!!!

  20. Stephanie

I saw the Crispy Marshmallow Oreos at Walgreens. If you are still looking for them they may be there!

    1. Jennifer

I found them at Kroger today! I really like them!

  21. Catherine Faulkenburg

Cookie dough Oreos taste like mocha. Not bad. But not great.

    1. Jennifer

Lucas said coffee. No idea when he drinks coffee, but that’s what he said!

  22. Alison

I really want to try the cookie dough oreos so badly!

    1. Jennifer

They weren’t as amazing as I was expecting.
