MonthlyExpress, who kindly send me this gift box to review, is a monthly collection of high end luxury products with a boutique feel from all around the world. Each month’s shipment is a distinctly different experience of discovery and enjoyment, with just one commonality: all of them are curated and fit for the most luxurious of palates.
MonthlyExpress ships via USPS Priority Mail and you better bet I couldn’t run these boxes in the house quickly enough (I will share my review on the January collection in the coming days) to see what was inside!
Right away I was impressed. Inside the outer box was a gorgeous gift box. The package was very heavy so I was super curious to see what was inside.
Isn’t the packaging on this gorgeous? It could be easily gifted, or can just be considered a gift for yourself, for your monthly “ME” time. And listen, I need some ME time these days, so this is amazing.
Instead of a tissue paper or something similar, everything was wrapped in a cream organza fabric. If I didn’t already know it, this would make me realize I was in for quite a treat.
The February 2014 MonthlyExpress (ME) collection theme was “Here’s To You” and was dedicated to, well YOU! Here is what was included:
~Faceted Gold Rimmed Glass by Oscar de la Renta ($60): Have I ever owned a glass this fancy? No. Do I love it? Yes! This was selected for the February collection to make you feel like royalty and it certainly does that for me. MonthlyExpress suggests making a Dominican Rum Punch which Oscar de la Renta’s signature cocktail in this and I gotta say, that sounds like quite a tasty drink which I may just have to try tonight for the Oscars!
~Orange C Serum by ERBE Skin Care ($98): This serum helps prevent aging and loss of elasticity. I’ve only used it once so I can’t tell if anything happened, but it did make my skin feel nice. I am very excited to use this over the next few months and see what happens because it sounds like it’s wonderful.
~Nightfall French Bar Soap by Belle de Provence (~$10): This soap is made in France and has a botanical fragrance. I am slowly warming up to bar soaps and think if I find the right holder I can give it a go. Some of these bar soaps I receive (this one included) just seem too fabulous not to use!
~Grey Bath Mitt by Lothantique (~$10): This is to be paired with the Belle de Provence soap to turn your everyday bath ritual into an everyday luxury. I love the idea of swapping this out for my normal pouf because I think this will provide better exfoliation. Certainly something I wouldn’t have picked up on my own, but it’s a welcome change to my shower.
All totaled I came up with a value of $178 (I did have to estimate the prices on those last two items though) for the February 2014 MonthlyExpress collection. Collections are $129/month, so the value was certainly there. And I have to say, I loved it. The note on the card says “It’s ME Time.” and this collection really did make me feel like it was just for me. MonthlyExpress is one of the companies on my list that I have been so curious about (and I know a lot of you have been as well) and having now received a box it makes me want to subscribe. I think I will put this one on my birthday wish list. It’s not until June, but it’s never too early to start planning.
