It took forever, but my February 2014 Tyler Florence Fancy Box has finally arrived! I had been seeing everyone else getting their boxes and hadn’t even gotten a shipping notification on mine yet, so I had to e-mail Fancy to see what was up. Not sure what happened, but they responded quickly and it’s here now, so problem solved.
And just in case you aren’t familiar, Fancy, which is $39/month plus shipping, has a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies or celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Kelly Rowland, Coco Rocha and / or Tyler Florence. They also offer a Fancy Food Box (which is one of my favorites).
Fancy Box ships via FedEx and it takes two business days to arrive. This box shipped on Friday and arrived today (on Tuesday).
As I mentioned I had seen some other February Tyler Florence Fancy boxes (that’s how I knew I was missing mine) so I knew what I was going to receive. Well, I hoped I knew. I know last month some Tyler Florence subscribers got different items than others. But it does’t appear that was the case this month. And I was excited about it ;).
The box didn’t have a stated theme, but it was clearly a breakfast theme to me. I really enjoy when Fancy does themed boxes (for the Food ones and the celebrity curated ones) and since I am a big fan of breakfast this was great for me. The information cards have notes from Tyler Florence on the back saying why he likes the products, what he uses them for, etc. Here is what was included:
~Primula Tempo Coffee Press ($18): B has a french press that he loves (he uses it every day at work) and we’ve received a few in various subscription boxes along the way as well. I will probably end up gifting or donating this since we only need so many of them. However, if we didn’t already have one, this would be awesome.
~ShortStacks Maple Syrup ($13): Mmmm, this looks amazing! I foresee some pancake making this weekend. Heck maybe even tomorrow if we all get a snow day (fingers crossed). They are now predicting anywhere from 6 to 11 inches. We’ll see.
~Art Cook Citrus Zester ($15): We do own a zester, however, I am going to save this one for B’s eventual basement bar. Every good bar needs it’s own zester right?
~Art Cook Spoon Spatula ($13): This is genius! Sometimes a spoon is too much and a spatula is too little and this combines them both. Love it!
~Short Stack Editions ($24): Short Stacks are a series of collectible cookbooks based entirely around individual ingredients. These are for “eggs” and “strawberries”. Lots of really cool ideas in there and I love the graphics on the covers.
All totaled the February 2014 Tyler Florence Fancy Box had a value of $83, which is almost double the cost of the box ($39 + $7.95 shipping). I was very pleased with this box, but think it would have been even better had the french press been replaced with something else (only because we already own one).
