One of my two March 2014 Citrus Lane boxes arrived today and while it’s not WB’s box (his would be for a 23 month-old boy), I was so excited about it I wanted to review it anyway. This box is for a 46 month-old boy (I have the account set to L’s birthday plus two years).

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane recently raised their prices from $25/month to $29/month, but if you sign up for a longer subscription, you can get boxes for as little as $19/month (that’s what I do).

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and takes, you guessed it, a week to arrive.  My mail lady used to think that Citrus Lane boxes were full of oranges and almost didn’t leave the box a few times last summer because she thought it would spoil in the sun ;).

First Look

I basically knew what to expect from Citrus Lane this month, but I hadn’t seen a spoiler for this exact age yet this month.  I was super excited from the first look because this was the box I had wanted!

The Information Card

Our March 2014 Citrus Lane box included products from two new brands – Petit Collage and Hello Hanna.  They don’t do themes anymore and just do a fun box of products that fits the age group your child is in.  Here are all the details for this month’s box:

~Memory Game from Petit Collage ($16): Not just a Memory Game, but a train memory game!  L and I can play this now and WB will be able to play it in a year or two. I like that there are only twelve pairs in this because traditional memory games have SO many cards that it gets a bit overwhelming for little ones.  And the cards are nice and big for little hands.

~Bamboo Vehicles from Hape Toys ($4.95): These actually came in CL boxes last year (it’s not a duplicate if you have been consistent with your childs age, but I jump around for my other CL account) at some point and I loved them.  I think I ended up trading for additional ones as well.  I haven’t given this to WB yet and I don’t think we have this one, so this is awesome.

~Medi Buddy from Me4Kidz ($5.25): I totally love these little kits and don’t believe we have ever received the First Aid one.  This will go in my bag and we’ll be needing it once summer hits and we’re out at the park and all that fun stuff.  I only wish that the picture was on the actual container and not just the wrap.  It’s so cute I always hate to unwrap them.

~Monkey Hello Book from Hello Hanna ($9.95):  Ohhh, I have never heard of this brand before, but this is so perfect for L.  I am going to have him create an entire story using the stickers and he’ll write the words to go along with it.  It will be awesome practice for him and fun at the same time.

All totaled I came up with a value of $36.15 for the March 2014 Citrus Lane Box and just like last month, I loved this month’s box!  Lots of great brands, high quality products and everything is totally usable.  I am a happy girl!

We got the Hello Book too. I’m totally loving that and can’t wait for N to write his story. I’m thinking most of my box this month will be in Easter baskets for the boys. Nice boxes this month.

I hope that WB’s box has some good easter stuff!

Oooh I am in love with your box! I got a 36 month box, and its a puzzle, the band aid case, play dough and sanitizer wipes. So very blah! I wish I got a sticker book. I wonder if I should age up higher, what do you think? Here is the link to the photos: http://wp.me/p4lGPl-62

Not a bad box, but it doesn’t hurt to age up! Sometimes it might be the same stuff, but months like this weren’t. Even if it doesn’t work for them now (if it’s too old), then you could save it for birthdays, christmas, etc!

We had the same things. The puzzle was boring and the wipes smelled TERRIBLE! Did they smell to you? We couldn’t get the smell off our hands and tossed them! Yuck!

I got CL for a 25 month old girl. We got the first aid kit and a petit collage puzzle instead of the memory cards. We also got a tub of all natural Clean Well hand wipes, which promptly went in my car. And also some all natural fruit and vegetable based play doh. I’m guessing in case a 2 year old decides to eat it, it will be safe for them. I recently cancelled stork stack, and signed up for CL. This was our first box, and was a hit so far.

      I wouldn’t have minded that play-doh!

We got our first Citrus Lane box yesterday and my little guy was so so excited! It was very cute to see him with it. He liked everything, even the orange wipes, but I think yours is a lot better. That train memory game is really cool! He is only 2.5 and I have him aged exactly as he is. I was wondering, and I’m sorry if you answered this before, why do you age your boys up? Is it so they get stuff to grow into? If I decide to upgrade to the 6 month program I think I might adjust up a little. While he liked his puzzle and play-doh, he would’ve loved that car & train game. I got it for a discount but I don’t think I’d pay $29 for it and be completely satisfied. Either going to have to cancel or prepay so I get a better deal.

I get a box for my little one (he’s almost 2) and I leave that at his normal age. This one is just an extra box that I play around the ages with!

I always prepay for this one. $19 is a steal compared to $29!

Exciting! I get my first box delivered today for a newborn. I’m only 22 weeks pregnant but I’m getting stuff in hand before my little boy arrives. You mentioned that you “jump around” on your account? So do you just change the birthday before the 1st of the month? I put my birthday like he’s born this month so I’d get the next couple of months ahead of him coming. But can you jump that date all over the place?

    1. Jennifer

For WB’s box I set it at his normal age. For the other box I get (this one), I will switch it between like newborn (if I need gifts for friends) and an older one. You can just switch up the birthdays like you said. You may end up with some newborn type repeat items so jumping around might not be a bad idea! You could change up the year and get a 1 year old box for a few months even!

This makes me excited to see what is in my box this month for my little one.

    1. Jennifer

      Has it arrived yet?

I think I might need to age up, so far I have gotten 3 boxes and none of them were really great. My daughter always likes the books, but that is all. We got the play doh, medi kit, puzzle, and wipes as well. I am not liking the puzzle at all, it says it is for a two year old, but my daughter is almost 3 and very good at puzzles and even she can not do this one by herself (and bring a toddler, she won’t allow me to help).

    1. Jennifer

I was thinking there is no way we’d be able to do that puzzle at 2! 3 would be hard as well. It seems cute, but advanced.
