Lily and Eve, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box which includes a group of handpicked lifestyle items from U.S. artisans. Items included in past boxes have ranged from vegan mineral makeup and soy candles to hand-stitched clutches, holiday stationary, and statement jewelry.
Lily and Eve ships via USPS and took about three days to arrive to me. Not too bad! On the 15th of the month, Lily & Eve sends an email to subscribers previewing the items they’ve hand picked for your box next month. If you like the items you do nothing and the box will arrive. If you don’t like the picks, you can go into your account and “Skip” that month or cancel your subscription. I love that this is an option because it kind of guarantees you will always love your box because if you didn’t love it, you’d skip it.
I am not sure if boxes normally come with an information card, but my box didn’t have one. I was able to find all the information about the box on their website though, so it wasn’t an issue. The March 2014 Lily and Eve theme is “Hear Me Roar” and is about making choices that will help you feel empowered and courageous. Here is what was included in the March 2014 Lily and Eve box:
~Mint Nail Polish (Sweet Liberty) ($8.99): Mint polish is made in America and is 5-Free, meaning it doesn’t have Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde,Formaldehyde Resin, and Camphor. Polishes are also vegan and are cruelty free. I love this color and could have sworn I have this shade, but if I do, I can’t find it anywhere. Maybe I saw this and wanted it? Either way I love it!
~Global Mothers / Shanti Uganda Omunyenye Cuff ($10): This cuff is made by the women at Shanti Uganda, which is an organization in Uganda providing mothers with a safe care center and support system. The Global Mothers organization aims to connect mothers around the world through the products they offer (like this one). I love the bracelet and it’s something I would totally buy on my own and probably would have spent more than $10 doing so!
~She Believed She Could So She Did Print (~$5): This was designed just for Lily & Eve, so I can’t get a price for it online. I love this quite and think it’s a good reminder to yourself everyday. I would have loved if they had included a frame for it, but I’ll figure it out.
All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $23.99 for the March 2014 Lily and Eve box. That’s slightly under the $24.98 monthly cost of the box, however, mine is an estimate and I also didn’t figure in shipping (I never do in my box calculations). I really enjoyed the items I received and I like the idea behind the box as well.

I really like the idea of this box. I would like to see more value for the price you pay, but even so it looks like a great box. That nail polish color is my fave!
It’s so pretty!
I like the whole box! I really like that nail color.
It’s all really cute!
