My March 2014 Love With Food box was one of the many subscription boxes I received yesterday. It was seriously an amazing mail day. I was so excited to get all the boxes that I ran out to meet the mail truck at the end of the driveway!
If you aren’t familiar, Love With Food box members receive a curated box filled with 8+ unique gourmet food items. Each box brings new delights, with bites that vary based on seasonal themes. In addition, Love With Food donates a meal to a child in need with each box purchased, which you can read more about here.
Love With Food ships via DHL Global Mail. And just like last month, my box took only four days to arrive. That is awesome for DHL and I am totally pleased about it.
The first look was all chips! I’d seen a few pictures of March boxes, but I hadn’t looked too closely at them to know what was in it. So basically I was spoiler free for this one.
The March 2014 Love With Food theme was “Flavors of the World” and includes items which will take your taste buds all over the world. Here is what was included:
~Cassava Chips by Wai Lana: I don’t know what’s up, but B’s been on a chip binge lately! We tried these and I think I liked them better than he did. They were like a combination between a chip and thin rice cake.
~Shortbread Fingers by Walkers: I have always enjoyed shortbread cookies and these are no exception!
~Earl Grey Tea by Taylors of Harrogate: Meh. I think I have mentioned this before, but I used to think Earl Grey was a brand of tea, not a type of tea. No matter, I will be passing this along to my cousin. I do think it’s interesting that this is from the official supplier to the British Royal household. How fancy!
~Ginger Chews by Chimes: These were… interesting. They are made from “uniquely intense” ginger grown in Indonesia and I would agree with the information card, they have a kick!
~Lollipops by Peirrot Gourmand: This has not been tried yet, but if generations of French children approve, I am certain mine will as well!
~Taco and Burrito Seasoning by Desert Gardens: B was excited to see this and I think I am going to use it in something I make in the crockpot. I always have these big plans for crockpot meals and I never follow through. Hopefully I can with this one.
~Pasta Chips by Vintage Italia: Love these. I don’t recall ever having a pasta chip before, but I would have these again. I would consider them more of a cracker than a chip, but whatever, they are good.
~Chai Spice Macaroons by Emmy’s Organics: I am not a huge fan of these, but I don’t hate them either. They just aren’t my thing.
This probably wasn’t my favorite Love with Food box ever, but it contained lots of new to me products and I enjoyed sampling them all! I am guessing I wouldn’t have tried 80% of this stuff had it not arrived in this box. And that’s why I love subscription boxes – to try new things!
If you are interested in signing up click here. Subscriptions (for a regular box) are $12/month, but you can use the code “YUMMY″ to get your first (regular) box for only $2 or your first Deluxe box for $9.95. If you got the Deluxe box this month, did you get any different goodies in it?
Those pasta chips are the first thing I have gotten in one of these boxes (three so far) I am seriously considering tracking down to buy.
They were shockingly good.
I agree!! The pasta chips totally surprised me. So good!
I got the deluxe box this month to see if there was any difference & I got the exact same thing you got but just double. I was very disappointed in this month’s box. I haven’t been very happy in the last couple months & I think I’m going to cancel for awhile.
Hopefully you find one that fits you better!!
the pasta chips and the ginger chews were the first thing i ate …i agree about the macarroons – i am not sure they are my thing either !
I bet a different flavor would have been good!
We have a serious salt + vinegar chip obsession in this household. I think I really need to just get this box. It’s only $12 for goodness’ sake. And $2 for the first with the code! This seems like one box that will just get used completely.
You might as well just try it once!
I got this box and immediately started snacking. I did not care for the salt and vinegar chips at all. The lollipop I got was apricot and it was amazing. I also LOVED the pasta chips and will be tracking them down to buy as well. I am not a fan of ginger, so I passed them onto my boyfriend and he loved them so much he tracked down a store that sold them and will be going to get some right away. I hope they sell the pasta chips there also. I have to agree about the macaroons, and I love chai, but they weren’t really my thing either.
I was so surprised at how good those pasta chips were!
