The MercoBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a stylish subscription box featuring a curated selection of Utah’s finest local products. The idea is to allow people to discover new products, goods and businesses and get excited about the amazing things the State of Utah has to offer.
MercoBox ships via USPS and took about 5 days to arrive to me. The MercoBox ships on the 1st business day of the month and subscribers are billed on the 20th of the month for the following month’s shipment.
I somehow missed the first look on this one, but I thought it was cool that the shipping label was on a removable sleeve. If you wanted to gift this, it’s super easy to do so!
The March 2014 MercoBox included an information card with a listing of the products, as well as, prices. You can also go on their website for lots of details information about each of the merchants in the box and links to their shops. Here is what was in the box:
~Q Clothing Boutique Scarf ($28): Of course I love this (it’s an infinity scarf, what’s not to love)! It’s beautiful and I also love how they tagged this scarf. Instead of just a folded up scarf that was all creased, this came out of the box looking perfect. Genius!
~Various Gift Cards / Coupons: I don’t live in Utah (most of the stores are in Salt Lake City), so I won’t be able to use all of these. There are some coupon codes for products which were featured in this month’s box which can be used online, so that works for everyone.
~Edible Wilds Wildflower Brownie Mix ($6.99): I have never heard of wildflower brownies, but why not? I am saving these to make this weekend with the little boys and am pretty interested to see if they (mainly L) will be able to tell the difference.
~Sea Grape Bath and Body Relaxed Mama Tea ($6.50): Although I could likely benefit from a calming tea, I will be passing this along to my tea loving cousin.
~Razieh’s Wrinkle Free Obsession Cream ($4): This cream is basically supposed to fix everything. From fine lines, wrinkles, cellulite and stretch marks to scars all over the body, this will do the trick! I haven’t been able to use it long enough t verify any of this, but I love the idea of an all in one cream like this.
~Heavenly Hygienics Cherub Balm Lotion Bar ($3.99): I am planning to use this on just for WB’s cheeks and chin when we are out and about. The drool and the cold weather really affect him and I never seem to have an appropriate baby cream in my bag, so this is going straight in there.
~Mercolocal Keychain: I think having this on your keychain would serve as a good reminder to shop local! It’s something I am constantly working on (sometimes I do better than others at it), but I really want to support local businesses more than I have been.
All totaled I came up with a value of $49.48 for the March 2014 MercoBox! I thought it was a great value (the box is $19.99) and I loved their selections this month. They did a great job selecting programs across a variety of categories. And, of course, I also enjoyed learning about some of the fabulous local products Utah has to offer.
