March MissionCute

MissionCute, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly subscription box full of cute stuff, but with a mission. Each MissionCute box comes with at least 2 items made by small-but-mighty artisans and local businesses and each month they partner with a different nonprofit to help promote their mission.  50% of the net proceeds of each box are donated to the chosen monthly nonprofit and MissionCute also sponsors and works on a service project each month in their community.

Cost: From $29/month
Ships To: United States.
The Box

MissionCute ships via USPS. I can’t from their website tell when monthly boxes usually ship, but mine arrived mid-month.

First Look

I had no idea what to expect from this box.  I had never seen a review on it or any pictures of previous boxes (granted I hadn’t looked either), but the presentation was great.  Everything was perfectly wrapped and looked great.

The Information Card

MissionCute includes an general card which gives some social media information, but doesn’t include any product information.  The artists information was all included on the tags of the products and / or business cards included in the box, but I do love to have it right there on a card for me.

This Month’s Mission

The back of the information card includes details about this month’s mission.  The March MissionCute partner is “The Westview House” in Burlington, Vermont which is a day, evening, weekend and holiday psycho-social recovery program.  They offer an environment of opportunities for self help and skill-building to individuals who are recovering from psychiatric illness in the community.

Here is what was included in the box:

~Vanilla and Rose Crochet Coffee Mug Cozy ($8): I love the color of this and I can’t wait to use it with a coffee cup in the car.  Those paper sleeves just don’t seem to do the trick.

~Simply Whimsical Pot Pinchers ($12): How cute are these little guys?  They are used for grabbing hot dishes out of the microwave or pots off the stove.  I’ve never seen such a thing, but I love them already.

~The Woodberry Press Cards ($12): These cards are handmade and I think the “Oh Deer…” one is my favorite.  I don’t know who I am going to send this too, but I am sure whoever I do will think it’s just as cute as I do!

~Clean Line Soap Company Double French Clay Facial Soap ($5.50): This soap is supposed to be good for oily skin so I am thinking of saving it until the summer for when my skin is at it’s worst!  I am hoping for the hottest summer ever to make up for this crazy winter we had!

All totaled I came up with a value of $37.50 for the March 2014 MissionCute box.  Boxes start at $29/month and not only do you get a box of cute stuff, you are also doing some good in the process!

Disclosure: This complimentary box was sent for review purposes. As always, all opinions are my own and no compensation was received.
